Gum grafting on 3 teeth. The only thing I felt was the novacain. He was very gentle and I was shocked when he told me that he was finished. Little to no pain afterwards as well. He even followed up with a phone call to check on me. I highly recommend Dr. Hess.

I had periodontal work done in April 2012. While the results were satisfactory, I would not say they were excellent. I do not consider my results to be excellent because I expected my tooth recession to be completely covered after gum surgery and it is not. I had no complications from the work, but the recovery was longer and more difficult than was described to me. The staff was less professional than expected and during the procedure an assistant exclaimed "gross" at something in my mouth. On the other hand, I can say that I trusted Dr. Hess and I feel that he is an honest periodontist. He will not try to sell you work that you do not need.

Dr. Hess is a superb practitioner. My only complaint is in the way he chooses to do business.
The feel of the office, and the staff is way too much about the "business" aspect of things.
They want money, and their attitude about getting it is not very warm and fuzzy.
I understand that they need to get paid for their services, but the office staff has a major chip on their shoulder.
Unfortunately, this attitude totally ruins the entire experience.

I was referred to Dr. Hess due to a concern about some teeth being slightly loose. Despite relatively recent orthodontia (about which I made him aware on each appointment) he instructed me not to wear my retainers for several months, while checking how my teeth shifted each month. He ignored my oft repeated concern about undoing my orthodontia and left me with a huge space between my two front teeth and my other teeth shifted back to where they were before 4 years of orthodontia. My only recourse is to re-do the orthodontia. Furthermore, they called me if I was 3 minutes late, but saw no ptoblem in asking me to wait two hours on one occasion, taking me only when I told them I was leaving.

Dr. Hess was absolutely wonderful! He was very informative in explaining the procedure I was going to have. He's very gentle & a total sweetheart! I've recommended him to my friends.
No problems whatsoever with insurance...
Loved the fish tank in the waiting room!

Positve, professional, great results. Dr. Hess was quick, friendly and willing to explain the proceedure. Not terribly indulgent, but overall a good experience. Pain was minimal, mostly just mild discomfort. Called to see how I was within 24 hours.

Gentle manner, answers all questions. Takes the time you need to understand every procedure. Staff is very helpful and well educated.
Great assistance with insurance.
