Always a better experience when finished ("that wasn't too bad after all") than the dreading having to go in the first place. Who looks forward with exciting anticipation thinking yippy, my dentist appointment is only two more days away!!
Not me, for one. At Hawthorne Dental you don't feel like you're in an assembly line. Friendly personable staff. Usually I only need routine cleaning. My kids used to go to him for same reason. Anything more extensive they went to an orthodontist.

Dr. Raney has always been a great dentist. He explains options and related expenses so that I can make an educated decision on how to proceed with treatment. The assistants that work with him have always been helpful and friendly and most important, they know what they are doing.
I first saw him at another office before becoming a patient at his Chesterfield office and was impressed with him from the start. I always felt at ease and due to a high tolerance to the novocaine if I start feeling pain he will stop and administer a little more to help with the pain.
Dealing with younger children isn't something that seems to be handled well. There isn't a lot of patience for kids who are scared. But for older children and adults I would definitely recommend Dr. Raney as an exceptional dentist.

The office is old, outdated & seems dirty. I only went to them bc I had to with insurance. I just switched & can now choose another dr:)
I felt their prices were high, but a lot of that could be insurance carriers. I once pd. for a crown in full ahead of time. Do not pay ahead!! Once he got into the tooth...we realized I needed a root canal (he didn't do them!). So I had to go to another dr. to get that done & ended up losing the tooth. All told...I spent about $1000 on that tooth and then had to get it pulled out.
About Hygienist: Hygienist is very nice! Receptionist is not!!!! She is very old & crabby and prob. needs to retire.

Very personal service and always pleasant atmosphere!
Dr. Raney fixed my filling when it fell out as well as other routine items.
