So glad to be his patient! He took my difficult case and mostly succeeded, although one tooth was too far gone, the other one was saved. My husband has also had great results. Dr. Barrett is on call virtually all the time and responds immediately. He's very personable and gives you the best advice. Recommended highly.

I do NOT recommend: I've had 3 separate Endodontists confirm that all Barrett's root canals were only performed halfway up the root canal, instead of all the way. Results were obviously unsuccessful, and he repeated the process on several teeth to no effect. Then he performed several apicos, which were also unsuccessful. When relief of pain was not obtained after several YEARS, he recommended I have an extraction of one of the teeth, and an implant put in. (This was his response to my sharing with him my second opinions.) It later proved that this extraction was not necessary, as he had misdiagnosed it... it turned out to be the tooth beside it, which also has been recently extracted and awaiting an implant. After 10+ years of Barrett's 'work', my teeth and jaw are in dreadful shape and out of alignment. And I am still in pain. It will take many more expensive root canals/apicos/extractions/implants from other specialists before his incompetence is reversed.

I would not recommend this dentist. I went to get my tooth checked as it was hurting me. After taking an X- Ray he claimed I needed root canal in both my teeth without giving any specific reason. He could not figue out which one was giving me trouble and so decided it was best to get root canal done on both teeth. When I told him I would like to come at a later day he got very angry with me for not getting the procedure done there and then, and acted like I had wasted his time. I showed the x- ray to couple of other dentists and they said the x- ray did not show any infection just wearing of tooth surface on one tooth and there was nothing wrong with my second tooth that this doctor wanted to do root canal on. I will never go back to him again. He is very rude and just wanted to make money.

Extremely happy with Dr. Barrett! I received a root canal for teeth 2 & 3. Dr. Barrett and his staff did an excellent job all the way; painless, efficient & inexpensive ($1000 less than another Endodontist in my area). I highly recommend him and was pleasantly surprised by my experience with him.

Dr. Barrett is a wonderful, kind, and generous man. His character and personality are beyond exception. He does everything he can do to kill pain, and will even see patients in emergency on weekends if they are experiencing a lot of pain. His treatment plans are excellent and he always delivers on his promises about results. I would recommend him to anyone needing this kind of dentistry. He comes with my highest level of recommendation and praise.

Performed 2 root canals and did a good job but explanation of the cost of services was ambiguous prior to the procedure so the final bill was much higher than described which was disappointing. I will be using someone else in the future.

Dr. Barrett did two root canals for me. He proceeded to fill one of them with temp filling. He stated that there was no fracture in the tooth but it fractured two months later due to the temp filling. The other tooth the root canal was done half way. Dr. Barrett broke off part of the canal instrument in the canal of my tooth and neglected to tell me. Now, I need to go to another specialist to have them us some sort of ultrasonic machine to get it out. This is going to cost $$$$$$$$$$$$.

I was referred to Dr Barrett for root canals following filling removal (exchanged the silver filling for white - don't let anyone talk you into doing this as I was!). Apparently I reacted to the Epinephrine in the local anesthesia or he sent it to my blood stream by injecting it incorrectly... and he gave me allot of it. I was shaking, vomiting and etc. He told me it was my nerves and ordered me to calm down. I could not make the shaking stop and felt like I was having seizures. He started drilling anyway. When I couldn't "calm" down he told me we couldn't finish the procedure, packed the tooth which he drilled exposing the nerve and was prepared to send me out. When I asked for painkillers, now he accused me of coming in for the procedure to GET painkillers! Do people actually do that? Whether or not they do doesn''t matter. I was appalled at his abusive behavior. Even his office girls looked embarrassed for him. Needless to say, I found someone else to finish the tooth.

Dr. Barrett is truly a unique dentist (endodontist). Of all dentists I have seen, he has been the most articulate and attentive in dealing with my medical issues, taking the time not only to thoroughly explain what needs to be done, but also to opine on what has been done in the past and how it is working. I learned more about my teeth in 15 minutes that I have in a lifetime. Although he is very carfeful not to criticize what others have done, he coincidentially confirmed several of my unspoken suspicions about potentially sub-standard care I recieved in the past from various dentists. His attention ot detail is outstanding, and he he takes an amount of time to get to know and reassure the phobic dental patient such as myself that few doctors think they have the time to do today. He shows restraint in prescribing too much care. Unless in the unlikely event there is more to the story here, I would not see anyone else. Too bad he is not a general dentist, and too bad he will retire before I do!
