3/2/2012 - Katz's practice left me waiting roughly 15 minutes in the early morning before I could even get in the building. They rushed with everything. After my cleaning I was kept waiting another 25 minutes in the chair as Dr. Katz entered. He was nice enough, though very brief - he never got to know me, or wanted to know me for that matter. Katie, the receptionist, is the one diamond in the rough that i experienced.

About Hygienist: I'm not quite sure her name, but she was thin, short dark hair. She was pretty rough, even after telling her i had sensitive front teeth. Also, outside of regular cleanings and xrays I have effectively had no dental work done - to this i say she used a scolding tone multiple times saying how I need to remove my wisdom teath (i told her I have already been informed multiple times), and how i was not flossing correctly. She told me every complaint and never once complimented. Her tone was rash and her hands bony. Never smiled, never introduced herself, and never wanted to talk outside of her scoldings. I could not believe it.

I would recommend Dr. Katz to everyone that is looking for a quality dentist. Dr. Katz is a great dentist and the staff is always professional and cheerful. I have always had a good experience when going to this dental office. It is dental work however Dr. Katz is good at what he does. Dr. Katz is not an overpriced dentist and I know the office takes most kinds of insurance. Dr. Katz is a trustworthy dentist and doesn't try to sale you things you don't need. The office is close to Minneapolis (in St. Louis Park, MN). The office is located right behind Eriks bike shop on Texas Ave .

About Hygienist: The hygienists are wonderful as well. They are gentle and knowledgeable. They make a great team at this office. They are great at what they do. My teeth feel clean when I walk out the door.

I saw Dr Katz once. I had just gotten my dental insurance and did not have a dentist,so I chose him based on the fact that he was covered by plan and could see me the same day. I was in extreme pain because of recurrent mouth ulcers and needed help with treating not only the immediate pain,which made it impossible to eat solids or speak; but in determining the cause so that could be addressed. He was dismissive, rude, insensitive. He applied a topical anesthetic which he said would create a barrier to protect the area while it healed and prevent further damage from a dental appliance installed permanently. I also have TMJ, which worsened the condition. The gel he applied burned so badly I writhed in pain and was crying immediately. He said it would last 8-10 hours, so that I could return to work that same day, It fell off WHILE I WAS STILL there in the office. As it was a Friday, he was more concerned with his weekend plans,telling me to call for another appointment on Monday. When he left, his car was parked next to mine. He saw me in my car, crying. I have never been treated so shabbily by a dentist.I would NEVER recommend this dentist.

About Hygienist: She was fine, compassionate. Gentle and understanding.

The entire staff is pleasant, efficient, and thorough. Our son has special needs (Autism), and can be very sensitive to pain, bright lights, and touch not to mention the normal anxieties that we all feel about seeing a doctor. Dr Katz was incredibly understanding and responsive our concerns and our son's needs. We're very grateful for his gentle personality and ability to accommodate people with specials needs.

Dr. Katz is just great. He's a kind, sympathetic dentist -- painless! But also very professional and skilled. I recommend him highly. He has a folksy, friendly office. You never wait for an appointment.
