So excited! Just had my front four veneers replaced..(something I have been meaning to do for years)...They are absolutely beautiful! Dr. Kirkland is one of the best! Him and the entire staff at Riverside are so courteous and knowledgable and nice and gentle! Great Office! Would totally recommend!

About Hygienist: Hygienist Melanie is personable and always does the most thurough job cleaning my teeth!

Without question or reservation, Dr. Kirkland is the best dentist I've ever seen --- and I've probably been to a dozen or more in my 62 years. Every aspect of this dental clinic is first-rate, from Dr. Kirkland's skill and caring for patients, to his very modern equipment, to his dental hygienists to the appointment and billing staff. They have corrected dental problems I've had for years that others couldn't cure. They are also very friendly and pleasant while working in an efficient and professional manner. Absolutely the best in Tucson --- highest recommendation!

About Hygienist: Melanie Whitehouse is a delight. A very thorough professional who does a great job cleaning my teeth, and does so very gently. She also explains problems and how to prevent them very well. And she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. Highest recommendation!

Dr. Kirkland has made every visit pain free!! Although I was fearful of the dentist, he has really changed the way I feel. His staff is kind and thoughtful. He seems to run on time since I can't remember the last time I had to wait longer than 5min. They took care of all the insurance and gave me useful information regarding my plan. I believe I have found one of the best in town!

I hate going to the dentist and Dr. Kirkland has made my visits a pleasant experience. He is very sensitive to your needs and concerns. He gives the least painful dental shots I have ever experienced. He always spends time to review and explain my future treatment plan, unlike most offices that try to hurry you in and out of the chair. I highly recommend him as a dentist.

About Hygienist: My teeth ar very clean!!. Melanie is patient and very thorough. She is a wonderful addition to Riverside Dental.

Young doctor not comfortable with healer role, though improving. He sits behind you when he talks to you, is brief, and doesn't explain things at all well. He made an error in my treatment that caused me months of complications and expense--and it was all the result of a split decision he made while I was in the chair. He has had both excellent and sub-par hygienists over the years. Office is new and spiffy; feels as though a consultant was involved in setting up his practice--it doesn't reflect an individual. He dumped our insurance company, and his established patients with it, unless we want to pay full price, out of pocket. We are looking elsewhere.

I have never been happier with a general dentist. After a bad experience elsewhere, I tried Dr. Kirkland and havent looked back. I believe he is a skilled dentist and honest in his procedure recommendations. Even better, he is simply a nice guy. His office is pleasant; its small but clean and comfortable, with bright window-lit rooms. His staff are friendly and helpful, making sure theyve answered all my questions. Billing is straightforward; they bill my insurance for me. Im on a set-rate EPO insurance plan, so I dont know how his prices compare for those paying a percentage. I have cavity-prone soft enamel, but unlike prior dentists, Dr. Kirklands office has helped halt new decay by suggesting a prescription fluoride toothpaste and semi-annual fluoride treatments. The cavities he has filled have been done skillfully and without complication. Novocain administration was smooth, and overall pain was minimal. He was happy to stop drilling if something hurt. He only uses composite (non-silver) fillings, which I like. He answers any questions that you have and has a great bedside manner.

About Hygienist: My hygienist, Melanie, is very nice (Amy, another hygienist, is nice also). My teeth always feel squeaky-clean after a visit, which usually lasts about 60 minutes start to finish. Her cleanings are patient, thorough, and gentle. She uses an ultrasonic scalar along with the regular instruments for calculus buildup and plaque removal. She is cheerful and pleasant to be around. Melanie also checks up and gives advice on home care, answers questions and concerns, and is happy to get the dentist to check on questionable teeth. At this office, full dental exams are normally done annually, but I always request that Dr. Kirkland check things out since Im cavity-prone. One final note: on my first visit, I was told that the first cleaning would be a full-mouth debridement, with the actual charge depending on the hygienists assessment of the state of my mouths health. This practice is not fair to those like me that have regular dental cleanings, and its likely cause could be remedied by a quick oral exam to determine whether the debridement designation is truly warranted. (My initial cleaning cost about double a regular one.) I was alarmed at first, but subsequent cleanings were charged normally and I have been extremely satisfied with Dr. Kirkland despite this small one-time quirk.

Both my husband and I have recently started going to Dr. Kirkland. His staff is great and very friendly. They are great at explaining all procedures, costs, insurance information, and any other questions. They try really hard to schedule us in with our busy work and school schedules. I have had multiple cavities filled and there was minimal pain during those procedures. My husband had some bonding done and he too had minimal pain. I also appreciated the fact that I did not have to wait in the waiting area for long before I was brought back to a chair.

Exceptional experience with Dr. Kirkland and his entire staff top to bottom. Very nice facility with state of the art equipment. Consultation and cleaning rooms are semi-private which was somewhat odd but not overly problematic unless you seek complete privacy. For someone who is anxious about going to the dentist.....Dr. Kirkland made the experience very comfortable. Pricing seems relatively standard. Staff is very poliet and attentive.
