Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He specializes in the removal of wisdom teeth, dental implants, and the treatment of jaw deformities and facial injuries to restore function with reconstructive and cosmetic solutions. Dr. Widner has extensive experience in implant replacement of teeth, temporomandibular joint problems and diseases of the jaw and facial structure. Dr. Widner is a native Texan, and is a graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry, Stephen F. Austin State Univ. and LSU Medical Center. If you can have a great experience having oral surgery, you will with Dr. Widner. From his bedside manner to his entire office staff, I felt warmth and compassion. If you want a pain-free surgery, including the IV stick, and the work of a professional who is very knowledgeable in his field, then Dr. Widner is the right choice for you!

AVOID. Dr. Widner is a good doc and very professional but his staff is so painfully inept that you'll find yourself spending time and money because of their mistakes. I tried to get a surgery done there and in 3 separate instances they completely botched my treatment schedule.
1) My first appoint there was in October. I needed a predetermination from the insurance company, which involved them submitting a form to my insurance. They told me it should take 2 weeks. Dr. Widner’s office submitted the forms late. This process that they said would take 2 weeks took 3 months.
2) When I needed to go get a scan at a radiologist, they messed up the order form, leading me to have to get another scan. They refused to take responsibility for their mistake and instead tried to blame it on me, leading me to have to pay twice for the scan because they messed up on the first one and I didn't get what I needed.
3) Dr. Widner recommended I get a second opinion at a hospital 100 miles away (in San Antonio). I made an appointment using the referral form that they gave me. They referred me to the wrong doctor!
In conclusion, if you want an easy experience where you don’t have to spend countless hours on hold and spend extra money...DON'T GO HERE!

I had 5 implants and one surgical extraction last year and I am ecstatic with the results I have had. I waited about a decade to get these implants because I was so scared. Dr. Widner made the experience so wonderful that I feel silly waiting so long! In fact, by waiting so long, I had significant bone loss in my jaw! I am going in tomorrow morning for another implant with Dr. Widner where I used to have a bridge. I highly recommend Dr. Widner to anyone considering dental implants!

I was absolutely terrified of getting my wisdom teeth removed. On the day of my surgery, Dr. Widner and his team of nurses were very reassuring and kind. My surgery seems to have gone extremely well. I was able to head back to college and begin classes about 5 days later. I really appreciated that Dr. Widner personally called me the night after my surgery to see how I was doing and answer any questions I had. The whole experience, while not necessarily the most pleasant one of my life, was definitely not like any of the wisdom teeth horror stories I have heard. I felt very well taken care of and would recommend Dr. Widner to anyone who needs their wisdom teeth removed.

i had my wisdom teeth removed and was a little nervous in the beginning. Dr. widner was amazing the extractions went great and i had no complications. he kept in touch after to make shire every thing was going well. over all an amazing dr and i would definitely recommend him!
