I have a severe TMJ Condition. Dr Harkins has served as a light in the darkness through the whole ordeal. I originally had a frozen jaw and muscle pain. No jaw treatment was covered under health insur at the time and only a little under dental. The cost was going to be more than I could pay. Dr Harkins was wonderful! He told me where I could go to get ultrasound safely for really cheap and only did the basic splint that my dental could cover. I quickly recovered 100%! Within a week of getting the all clear from 3 docs, I had a car accident. It dislocated my Ldisc and caused pain on my rt side to. Dr Harkins was wonderful! He was there for me and my family whenever we were scared, confused or i was in so much pain I couldn't stand it. He helped my family understand my condition and how to best help me. He felt like a social worker as well as a doc. I was treated with injections, ultrasound, and splints. Eventually I needed BiLatArthrotomy of TMJs, L disc replaced, R rebuilt. When I moved to Phx, he got me in with one of the other top docs in the country and they set it up so I was used in a study and didn't have to pay. Dr Harkins truly cares! He is brilliant and keeps on top of new info in the field. I trust him completely....

About Hygienist: Jessica was the first person I met when going to see Dr Harkins. She was so polite and so easy to be around, I felt better before I even met the doctor. She was a hygienist and worked the front desk. She made the job look easy, even though I knew it must have been very difficult to juggle the responsibilities. She was always willing to listen and remembered everything I told her. She has stuck in my mind over the years. When I moved back to the area she had gone and the practice was huge! I was a little nervous at first but was quickly put at ease by an entire staff of men and women that were so much like the first. It can't be easy. My experience has been that the more severe the suffering of the patients of a practice, the more rude and self righteous the staff. Dr Harkins' staff reminds me more of a spa experience than a doctors office
