Dr. Berkovich deserves her number one rating as SF's best periodontist. I went to her after reading all of her glowing reviews on the internet and she met all of my expectations. The dental implant procedure was not as bad as I expected, thanks to Dr. Berkovich's skill, minimally invasive procedures and positive attitude. Even my dentist was impressed with the work she had done, saying the implant was positioned perfectly. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Dr. Berkovich did my dental implant. She is an amazing surgeon. I have had many dental procedures and have never met a doctor with such skill and attention to detail. Even my local dentist commented on the "perfect angle" of the implant. She is gentle and tries to make everything as painless as possible. I highly recommend her for any dental procedure. We are moving out of state and I will fly back to see her if I ever need another implant or surgery. Her prices are no higher than anyone else with her skill level and she is worth every penny.
About Front Desk: Consuelo is a wonderful person. She helped me with a refund from my insurance even after I had paid in full for the procedure. There was no reason for her to help, other than the fact that she is a professional and wanted to make sure my refund went through.

Over a number of decades and living in Asia, Europe and now here, I have ended up with 5 different implant systems in my mouth. And when things start to go wrong, it can quickly get too complicated for even the best dentists to tackle. But from the moment I arrived in Carrie's office she gave me a sense of calmness, positivism and understanding about how I was to be treated and how I would be once the work was complete.
She is a consummate surgeon, tremendously capable and never defeated, and her great grasp of the problems she encounters establishes great confidence in her manner and in the patient. She is also delightful to deal with and makes a dental visit, almost, something you can look forward to. (I did say "almost"). My trust in her is total and I would never consider seeing anyone else. And, did I mention that costs are never out of hand. How strange, how wonderful!

Carrie's great. A real professional through and through. It's nice to have a peer be honest and direct about a sensitive dental condition both you and she know you should'nt have and not exploit that sensitive condition information. Not only that but her treatment was painless, and really worked and improved the condition. Her rent's a bit pricey, I personally think she's being ripped off but was glad she was there

Dr. Berkovich did a gum graft for my receding gum. She did an excellent job, and I am so pleased with the results. All tooth sensitivity was fixed with this procedure (knock on wood). My procedure was on a far molar, so the cosmetics of the gum don't really matter to me, but she took all of the extra steps to make it as pretty as possible. Now if I open super wide you can't even tell I had the procedure. Healing was a pain, but far less painful than other procedures for gum grafts, I understand. All around a pleasant experience for what it was!

i put off having my severe gum recession addressed for years primarily due to cost. my dds referred me to the "best" periodontist in the city... after spending a couple hundred dollars to receive a quote from him, i was told it would be thousands of dollars to get the work done. obviously gum recession only worsens with time, so i owed it to myself to get a second opinion. after googling san francisco periodontists and reading reviews of carrie berkovich, i was curious enough to call her office. if memory serves well, she actually picked up the phone one late afternoon and talked to me about the procedure and costs involved. i was a bit shocked by how cheap it was compared to my other quote and a little skeptical. however, i was compelled enough to go in and meet her for a consult. i liked her immediately and was impressed by her professionalism. my work for 2 teeth would be roughly $1800 all in, about $1500-2000 less than my other quote. i scheduled the appointment and was out of her office within an hour or less the day of surgery. continued below..
About Hygienist: overall, it was virtually painless, with minimal healing time. very different from the experience my other potential perio described. she used some tissue on the side of the roof of my mouth as opposed to the top, i believe. my results are outstanding... far better than the results anticipated by "the other guy." i'm so happy with my choice. dr. berkovich is at the top of her field.

Dr. Carrie is terrific and I highly recommend her. She did my gum surgery and I had the best possible experience under the circumstances.
I was very nervous about it because I had never had any surgery before. But immediately she put me at ease. Through each step she told me what she was doing and what to expect. Her voice and demeanor was very soothing and reassuring.
The experience was virtually pain free! She did an excellent job of keeping me numbed up. And her post-treatment protocols minimized discomfort following the surgery. I actually did 2 surgeries a week apart with no problem.
The surgery was very successful - it healed quickly and the gums have stayed healthy months after.
