Don't waste your time & money.
Make sure you get everything in writing if you choose Dr. Watanabe. He has different policies for different patients even though they pay the same amount. If you do not have it in writing he will not help you out. You are out of luck because he will not take blame even when he admits to mistakes.
My recommendation is to simply find another orthodontist.

Our daughter just completed "Phase 1" of an orthodontic treatment that started in Jan '08. The treatment plan made various timely adjustments to account for her various adult teeth coming in and the growth spurts of her lower jaw. She just had her braces removed and has been given her retainer to wear, until all of her adult teeth are in to start "Phase 2".
Both Dr. Watanabe and his staff are top-notch - though their appointment schedule is very busy, they always work with us to get in for the adjustments and check-ups. They're especially thoughtful about getting us after-school appointments. Once there, we appreciate not having to wait for our appointment. We make use of the kids' video setup for our other daughter while we're there, too. We recommend him highly.

This guy is wonderful. He always checked me & my kids personally. Its not like other places I have gone to where the assistant does everything and your lucky if the doctor comes to check you. If you want one on one service, this is the place to go. His whole staff is very helpful and compassionate. They all treat me and my kids like a part of their family. The treatment results my children & I have had are phenomenal. When I see the before and after, its amazing. We have had exceptional results. We cant express how happy we are with his work. I would highly recommend him.

NOT reccommended AT ALL. Dr. Watanabe is referred to in my family as 'the crazy orthodontist'. Went to him for about 7 months and went NOWHERE with my teeth.
He wanted to put in all these spacers and jaw wideners and all this crap that didn't make sense. He saw my teeth as dollar signs.
People at the desk were not all that happy and cheerful, were not willing to help and were very cold.
The office itself was...okay. It wasn't very welcoming and didn't give you a sense of peace.
Pain? Pshh. He didn't care when I was gagging while he was taking a mold. Not very concerned about the patient's pain.
I could go on and on about this guy.

Dr. Watanabe is great. I've been under his care for over a year and a half and I have absolutely no complaints about him. The best orthodontist in the San Ramon area!
