I have no issue with Dr. Cushman's work. Where I find issue is in how the office is run where it concerns billing and practice.
Our insurance covers the cost of one set of x-rays per year. Rather than checking with our insurance or checking with our referring dentist to obtain copies already made, they make them and we're billed the full cost.
I questioned Dr. Cushman's office and they said we should tell them if/when x-rays have been made. They said they don't have time to check with insurance or with our referring dentist.
The practice of my dentist and other periodontists is to check these issues in advance.
When I sought to obtain records from Dr. Cushman's office they charged $26 for two sheets of glossy paper containing printed x-rays. I had to insist that they make copies of charts of previous services/measurements so that I could provide them to our new periodontist. My dentist's office had advised me that they are required by law to provide these records when patients change to another provider.
Our dentist no longer refers patients to Dr. Cushman.
For these reasons we no longer use Dr. Cushman's services and I would not recommend her office to anyone.
