Over 25 years ago my dentist at the time recommended Dr. Stuart Froum to me as the only practitioner in New York City who might possibly, although unlikely anyone could, be able to save an extremely fragile tooth. Dr. Stuart Froum did save that tooth and it is still in excellent condition in my mouth today.
Dr. Stuart Froum has performed several gum surgeries in my mouth over the years, most recently this month, October 2016. To my great surprise and delight, the surgery is never a frightening experience and I have never felt any pain, even after the anesthetic has initially worn off. Although as a precaution, he prescribes a pain reliever, I have never needed to take anything, not even an over the counter ordinary pain reliever. His staff is patient and attentive, very helpful with care instructions and responds quickly to all questions.
Dr. Stuart Froum is an expert, careful, deft practitioner, and is known as a top professor and world renowned expert in all areas of periodontics. He well deserves the national and world-wide recognition and accolades he has received from his peers in the practice.

Its been awhile since I've had my implant done by Dr.Froum and it has taken me literally 3yrs to write a review. I'd like to apologize to him for the delay and thank him for giving me my beautiful smile.
Dr froum is a wonderful dentist. When I went to him for a consultation he did not charge me at all and was able to diagnose my problem immediately. The nerve in my tooth completely died and had to be extracted. Dr. Froum told me that I would need a bone graft and then he'd put in my implant after that healed up. The bone graft helped to keep my implant securely in place . He really took great care of me and so did his staff. After surgery he called to make sure I was ok and was available to take my calls whenever I had concerns.
My implant was a success and I'm so happy with my results. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a professional and knowledgable periodontist in NY. Sadly I haven't been back to his office but I owe it to him to write a review because he really worked hard for me to have the best smile possible.

Dr. Froum is a gem, who in addition to decades of experience and knowledge is also a kind and caring person who can calm you down even as you are sitting in a dentist's chair. I came in with concerns about gum recession, which my previous dentist dismissed as "something that happens to everyone eventually", and another dentist wanted to treat with too many advanced procedures. When I arrived in Dr. Froum's office, I was very nervous about what it is that I needed. After a thorough examination and reviewing my xrays, Dr. Froum sat down with me and explained that while my gums were definitely in need of some periodontal TLC, the situation was far from hopeless, and that in the age of today's periodontal advances I have many options. Dr. Froum performed a deep cleaning and gave me some local antibiotics (Arestin), as well as suggested that I have four instead of two cleanings a year. He also recommended a dentist and explained how I can take better care of my gums.
About Front Desk: The front desk is very helpful and welcoming. Although Dr. Froum does not participate in any insurance plan, they fill out the paperwork that you need to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement, and have helped me navigate the process.

About Hygienist: Alice is thorough, gentle, and funny. She does not rush through her work, and my teeth feel very clean after a cleaning.

I went to Dr. Froum almost two years ago when I was under extreme stress, having suffered a traumatic accident--causing much of my gum to br removed. Everyone in the office was so kind and the Dr. himself is one of the most kind, accessible and compassionate dr.'s I have ever met. Because of a broken tooth, I had it repaired by a dentist at the office. That dr. was troublesome to me . Dr. Froum did every thing he could to accomodate me; certainly, it was just one of those things, but I was extremely upset, being already emotionally stressed. Although I did not need to have peridontal work done at that time, I recommend Dr. Froum wholeheartedly.He is honest and fair and explains everything. He also puts patients first . His good reputation is well deserved--I would not hesitate to go to him again.

Dr. Froum has treated me since 1978. I have had perio surgery, a bone graft and recently a gum graft. The results have been excellent. In addition, Dr. Froum and his staff are very caring and helpful. He has perodnally called me in the evening after procedures. He also reassured me there would be no paid. And there never has been any pain following surgery. He and his staff give careful home care instructions to assure a good result. I highly recommend him.

I highly recommend Dr.Froum, esp. for difficult problems when not solved by others. After several extractions, six implants, gingivectomies, numerous cleanings, unfailingly technically superb care given with kindness,support, good humor for my tough case, after disasterous prior experiences. Bustling practice+academic and professional organization leadership duties,he's never too busy to explain details of procedures (even when same in diffferent area); to personally call evening of surgery to assess my pain and re-enforce pre-op instructions (nursing my original profession). Surgeries are always preceded by extensive diagnostic scans and health assessments.He gently chides my tendancy not to slow down in recognition of seriousness of surgery/trauma to the body. I've had extensive restoration work. Dr. Froum personally attends to quarterly cleanings and gum health assessments. The staff is friendly and efficient; somewhat aggressive fee collection, even for long-standing paying patient. No privacy to discuss arrangements for significant investment Dr.F's fees require. I'm 50year veteran of dental restoration. Without reservation, Dr. Froum the best of them all. He deserves FIVE stars.

I have been going to Dr. Froum for so many years and each time I feel so lucky to have found him to do my dental implants. He first did three (many years ago), then another, and there will be more to come. Not only is he so highly qualified and competant, but his staff is also the best! From the moment you enter the office through to after all dental procedures and to his follow-up telephone call that night at my home, I have total confidence in his work. I saw a listing on this web site that he was rated #8 out of 99; he should be rated #1! I can attest to that as I literally walked out of another periodontist's office and declined treatment...that was how I then was so fortunate to have found Dr. Froum via my friend's recommendation. Dr. Stuart Froum is by far the single best periodontist I have ever worked with. I live 2 hours out of the city and I travel in and out of Manhattan to see Dr. Froum because he is simply the best and I only trust him to work on my mouth. I had surgery 6 weeks ago: i had bone implanted on both sides of my gums and as well had a post implanted in my lower right gum for a missing tooth. He explained everything that was going to happen. I felt no pain during the procedure and felt that Dr. Foum worked very swiftly and adeptly with his surgical team. I was explained exactly what to expect after the surgery and was called by Dr. Froum personally that evening to check on me. I am now 100% healed and doing extremely well. he saved my teeth. The surgery was 100% a success. I have known Dr. Froum now for 5 years. Before the surgery i had 5 weeks ago he had removed a broken tooth and started an implant process. Every visit is excellent thanks to his talent and amazing team. Everyone makes you feel taken care of and that you can ask as many questions as you need to. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Froum to anyone. I see him now on a routine basis to have my teeth cleaned and checked and should any new problems arise I will feel very good in his hands
