I went to see Dr. Yumin Tu for a routine dental cleaning and exam. I told her about a sensitive molar, of which she then took a few close xrays. Following examintion of the xrays, she concluded that I would need extensive work to solve my sensitivity problem. The "cavity", underneath an old filling, was so huge that she suggested an inlay which was VERY expensive. My insurance did not cover this procedure. I returned to my hometown and had a dentist I trust examine the tooth and review Dr Tu's xray. He concluded that there was no cavity. The sensitivity was caused by root exposure because of my receding gumline and was fixed by a simple, inexpensive bonding procedure. It has been over a year and I have no sensitivity of that molar. When you go to a dentist, you hope that their expertise and honesty is the number one priority. I was very disappointed with Dr Tu/Gentle Dental and feel as though she may have been trying to take advantage of my situation.

She is very calm, caring and friendly. I hate going to the dentist, but she makes me relax. She always asks if I am feeling O.k. and she does a good job.
