Read Reviews for Dr. Young Bui
Overall I would recommend.
Receptionist / phones - very good, proactive about managing conflicts and emergencies. Facilities - normal. Shared space for several dentists (each has their own insurance coverage).
Service Provided - day 1 - consultation, next day - root canal (my first). It's only been a day, but it seems very good. Took about an hour. No pain during the injection or procedure...minimal pain now (kind of like a normal headache). Prescribed 2 pain killers (although Advil would probably work for me).
Dr Bui is nice, very efficient. Maybe almost too efficient...in and out. However, not completely impersonal. He answered all my questions weighing the risks 4 days before leaving for Europe. A little sports chat while waiting for the novocain to take effect.
Billing - minor mix up. They charged me a $250 co-pay, when I am 100% covered. Apparently, it is extremely rare to be 100% covered and to be fair, I didn't realize I was 100% covered either but it could be a scam to 'double dip'. To get reimbursed I will need to send Dr. Bui's office my explanation of benefits. (I call it 'stupid tax' I was stupid not to question the co-pay on the spot, now I have to deal with the headache of getting my money back.)

Dr. Bui treated me for an emergency root canal. Dr Bui asked a lot of questions which I appreciated before even looking at my teeth. He has a great disposition and good hands: I didn't even feel the injection and I didn't experience any swelling or discomfort afterwards. I was very pleased that everything went so smoothly

very efficient office - they even call you up if they're running late! Very professional work - two root canals, never pleasant but no pain.
Now the office staff fouled up the insurance claim and was less than efficient in trying to straighten THAT out - but the dental work was first-rate

After having my root canal, I returned to my home in Los Angeles. During a routine check-up with my over-priced, ego-bloated Bevery Hills dentist, I was asked who performed my root canal. I anticipated a negative response when I told him that it was done by a endodontist in NYC. Instead, my dentist said that Dr. Bui's work was brilliant and that he took care of 4 roots in an extremely tight area without a single crack in the picks that were inserted. My dentist was amazed.
I took the time to call Dr. Bui and tell him that he was given high praise from a fellow dentist that usually doesn't have good things about his colleagues.
Also, Dr. Bui was able to complete his work in one visit.

I was referred to Dr. Bui for a root canal. It was my first, and I was terrified. He not only put me at ease, it was fast and painless.

First of all, this was my first root canal ever needed. It happened on the start of Memorial Day weekend! The practice where he works is 7 days/week and it was a life saver!! He saw me on a Sunday, the procedure was painless and very successful, and he has a great educational backround in his field. I would say the only painful thing was the $500 co-payment...but what's $500 when you're dealing with the non-stop pain of a needing a root canal?!?!

I attended this clinic as an emergency patient to have a crown recemented. Everything was very efficient, but the receptionist was a bit curt with my turning up as a emergency patient. Frankly, if they don't want emergency walk-ins this facility shouldn't advertise that they give this service.
On the other hand the service I obtained from the dental assistant and Dr. Bui, who reattached my crown, couldn't have been bettered and I was pleasantly surprised at how relatively cheap it was to have this service done without an appointment.
Again, my only complaint was with the online adverts that appears to encourage emergency walk-ins to find that my initial encounter with the receptionist was not at all welcoming. I do have to say that later the receptionist was quite nice, just not when I first walked in.

Unfortunately I have to post an negative review because I genuinely believe that Dr. Bui is incompetent. I went to see him twice for re-treatment of an infected root canal. He failed to go down one of the roots after trying twice. Eventually he gave up (saying that the canal was blocked - it's not curable) and suggested that I extract the tooth and do an implant. I was shocked by his recommendation (extraction?!). And, sadly I had too much experience in root canal (7 root canals in the past 10 years - in other cities where I lived before New York), so I knew something was not right. I decided to seek a second opinion.
I went to see Dr. Lipke through referral. I don't need to say more -- he successfuly went all the way down to the infected roots and treated them.
I understand that every dentist has limits, but Dr. Bui is, I am sorry to say, good at making little chit-chats but not a skilled endodontist. His recommendation (extraction) further shows that he is reckless in serving the patient's best interest.
P.S. Dr. Bui still charged me $300 for "Incomplete Root Canal".
