Read Reviews for Dr. David Martinez
Following initial checkup Dr. Martinez recommended 3 fillings for my 5yo son. After having other dentists look at the x-rays we decided to have Martinez do the fillings. The first two were done efficiently, in separate visits, and seem to be fine, although it's only been a few months. Before the 3rd one I found out that most resins contain BPA, which is an estrogen-mimicking petrochemical and suspected carcinogen. I asked Martinez if we could use a BPA-free resin, several of which do exist, and he completely ignored me. Even a few months after we cancelled the appt, no one from the office has even called about rescheduling. The guy seems to be raking in too much money to be bothered with questions. Very poor customer service, and, since he blew us off, it's taken some time to find another dentist, so that third cavity is now causing serious pain, so treatment success is also poor. Don't go to Martinez unless you and your kid are good sheep afraid to ask questions.

My children had a regular check up and my son had cavities filled. The treatment was somewhat painful , as is to be expected, but the cost was prohibitive. They told me he had two cavities and charged me for three. Getting the bill sorted out took no less than 12 phone calls and 3 months. He is a fine dentist but make sure you fully understand what he is doing and the associated cost before you use this provider.

Dr. Martinez has mostly done routine preventive care for my children, although a few minor procedures have been required. He has always been calm, friendly, and professional and works really well with kids. He has an office policy that allows parents to sit by their children during a visit (unlike some ABQ pedi dentists) and that is important to me. We had to consult with him after hours following a dental injury, and he was extremely responsive and offered to meet us for urgent treatment at his office at night. The kids like going to visit him--we are very comfortable there and happy to be in his practice. The hygienist staff also seems warm and competent.
About Front Desk: Friendly and helpful with answering billing questions.

Martinez's substandard attitude when treating my son was appalling. My child has a really bad gag reflex (get nauseous) and couldn't handle the clamp in his mouth. As Martinez attempted to probe his mouth, he was in distress and began knocking the clamp away. Martinez proceeded to become agitated and chose to berate my child in an unpleasant manner by repeatedly saying, "don't you ever knock my hand away,” as if my kid's fear and distress was immaterial and all that mattered was that he was being inconvenienced. Earth to Martinez--get a clue you're practicing on children-- they’re not just decimals in your bank account.

I loved going to Dr Martinez. He made my son feel so comfortable. I was extremely happy with the staff and environment all together!! so happy that now I am switching dentist for my 9 year old. Great experience all around. Dr Martinez goes WAY above and beyond what he needs to do.

I Highly Recommend Dr. Martinez. His staff is very good with children. They always make my son feel very relaxed and comfortable. He has successfully corrected several mistakes made by another dentist and my son has beautiful healthy teeth now. My son looks forward to going to see Dr. Martinez where in the past ,with his last dentist, he was terrified.

Dr. Martinez does great with my three boys whose ages are 7, and 5 (the twins are 5). He talks them through every procedure and the dental assistants are also great, they keep the kids calm. I would highly recommend Dr. Martinez. The only downside to this great doctor is that his appointment book is always full and if you miss your appointment your next appointment could be until 2 or 3 months later.

I took my son to Dr. Cito the first time he needed a check up. The entire experience was traumatizing to my son. Very unproffesional, I could tell they wanted as many patients as possible to maximize profits and didn't care about the patients themselves. When I went to Dr. Martinez, it was like we took a 180! The waiting room, the personnel, and the examination room were all extremely nice!! The way that they performed the cleaning on my 2 year old was very considerate of his anxieties and fear. They showed him all the instruments, gave them funny names and let him feel all of them, the way that they had me hold him while the Dr examined his teeth was smart as well. Dr. Martinez is an amazing Dr and I am truely blessed to have him as my sons dentist. I constantly recommend him to my friends and family.

Wow, are the only words that come to mind. Dr. Martinez is the most friendly and down to earth dentist, he speaks with every patient like he has known them for years.
