My husband and I have gone to Dr. Liew for 15 years--for good reason. He is extremely skilled and does quality work, always takes the time to explain what he's doing, why he recommends a certain procedure, and never tries to convince us to do something unnecessary just to pad our bill. He is also flexible with billing. We go to him for cleaning, crowns, bridges, partials. (For implants, he referred us to a colleague.) His Chinatown office is barebones, his midtown office is better equipped--according to what you need, he will ask you to see him in one or the other. Either way, his office ambiance by no means affects his care. Before we found Dr. Liew, we had tried three other NYC dentists and had had bad experiences. We trust Dr. Liew completely and recommend him without reservation!

Stay away from this dentist!! he's the worst ever!! I went there for wisdom teeth extraction. One of my tooth was impacted, and was in alot of pain. He didn't seem to care, he only gave me one shot of anesthesia and tried to pull out the teeth. I told him I could still feel the pain, he then gave me a 2nd and a 3rd shot which still have no effect on me. Then he got MAD! He raised voice and complained how come I was feeling numb. He is not professional at all! I got really worried and walked out his office to see another dentist (teeth was bleeding!).
2 weeks later, I received a $53 bill from him for mouth exam. I called him to dispute the claim saying I received very poor service and could have fainted from the bleeding....He was very angry and told me to shut up and hung up the phone! What a douche!!
About Hygienist: HIs office is very old, doesn't look clean, and the equipments look outdated

He was talkative and informative during the procedure. Did a x-ray, checkup, and cleaning.

I have my regular cleanings, my fillings replaced, my root canals and my bridge placed by this wonderful doctor. He is soft with his hands, patient, calm and a true skilled dentist. He is a great professional. I recommend him to only the best of friends. He repairs smiles... His office is very clean and I love his availability. He is open on SUNDAY.. No Saturdays..

He is a great dentist! He always knows who I am and asks about my family and how my work is going. He is very friendly and makes me feel comfortable. He is very sensitive to any pain that I might feel while he is working on my teeth. I would recommend him to any of my friends or family.

I received routine checkup, regular cleaning, and deep cleaning. He was talkative and I was quite relaxed during the whole treatment. I am kind of satisfied with the treatment. However, I do feel part of the experience was wierd
I don't know how common my experience was, or whether it was just me.
Rather than giving me suggestions and providing a clearly stated cost list, he simply directly start his treatment without clearly asking for the patient's decision. Even if the treatment was fully covered by the insurance company, I have no idea why did I need the treatments. Maybe he is just not active enough or the treatments were too basic?
