The dental work was superb and professional. We promptly paid the full amount due invoices totaling several thousand dollars for bridge work, cosmetic dentistry and general preventive dental care services. Last week there was a disagreement as to the day of the appointment for one of the family members for a cleaning. My calendar indicated it was on Friday. When I brought my mother-in-law for her appointment on Thursday, I was admonished for not also bringing my son for his dental hygiene. We were shocked to receive a letter from Dr. Dunne’s office today notifying us that we are being fired as patients. Dr. Dunne signed the letter but was not personally involved in any of the interactions. To be fair, twice before over the years we have been patience we had to cancel appointment within 24 hours because of unplanned and unavoidable school or work matters. Apparently his front office staff decided that we were undesirable. It would be probably be more precise to post a scan of the letter. It was professionally written and you would be able to judge for yourself whether or not to characterize it as "patronizing". The letter reads like an element in the “Seinfeld” episode when Elaine gets labeled as a “difficult”

About Front Desk: Dear Mrs. XXXXX the purpose of this letter is to inform you that as of XXXXXXX I will no longer be able to [read: willing] to provide you with dental care. Should an emergency arise within the next thirty days I will be available for you during normal business hours. It is my suggestion that you locate a new dentist who will be able to provide you with care. Should you not b e able to locate one, please contact the Virginia State Dental Associate [no information provide as to where they are located or a phone number]. My office will be glad to forward your records to your new dentist. [Along with warnings about what a 'troublesome patients' my family and I will prove to be.]

Dr. Dunne and his staff are wonderful. Dr. Dunne is extremely detailed oriented and thorough with his exams and dental treatment. He and his staff always make sure that I am comfortable and well cared for.They always make every effort possible to explain procedures and fees before a procedure is started. I've always felt a genuine sense of warmth and compassion from Dr. Dunne and his staff. I would highly recommend this office to others.

We moved to the area 11 years ago. I followed Dr Dunn to his current location. I was in need of temporary filling before going on vacation and he would not take 15 minutes to work me in so that I would not be bothered during my trip. He needs an assistant to help with his scheduling but is to cheap to get one so he's loosing patients. Plus they leave a half day early on Friday's and no exceptions to the rule, not even for a patient who had been coming to him for so long. He went through Hygienist like crazy and I never really liked any of them. My husband hates going to Dr. Dunn, because he thinks he doesn't do a very good job and has never had a good experience with him.

About Hygienist: Never liked any of them and he went through them like crazy. Seem like he always had a new one there every year.

I am totally disappointed with this doctor's office. Last week I had a confirmation call about my appointment for today. And today morning after driving for an hour to the doctor's office, I was told there wasn't any appointment made for me; There was a system crash and so my appointment got deleted. I wonder what kind of business these guys are doing without having backups of the records of their patients? They had my name, phone number and my appointment time written in a book. If my appointment was canceled I should have been told about it yesterday itself and definitely not after I go to the doctor's office. The front desk (lady) was so bitchy and was irresponsibly giving me some lame excuses. When I tried to talk to the doctor she didn't let me talk to the him even for a minute. She was lying a lot and was totally unprofessional. This place had always been messy like this. They have a policy according to which a patient would be charged if he/she cancels an appointment without 24 hour notice. What if the doctor's office does the same to the patient like what happened to me? You will not even have anybody to question about this except for the bitchy front desk.

If you need a cleaning or simple filling ,he is your guy. But, when it comes to crowns and more seriois dental work ,I would not recomend him as you will end up going back several times to correct the bite or redo the work. He is nice and the staff are pretty kind.

About Hygienist: liked both of the hygienists.
