Read Reviews for Dr. Mark Sweeny
I visited Dr. Sweeny at the Austin Dental Spa a few years ago for a cleaning. I was intrigued by the idea of getting a hand massage while having my teeth looked at. Needless to say by the "spa" name, the facilities and service were top notch. I only had a cleaning, but that was done completely comfortably and painlessly. The only criticism I had, and it's hardly a criticism really, is that the place feels a little southern California, if you know what I mean. Like I might be there to get some botox and a brow lift too.

I've been to Dr. Sweeny at the Austin Dental Spa on a couple of occassions for a dental check-up and cleaning. It was a big step up from my previous dental experiences; Dr. Sweeny and staff pride themselves on being very friendly and high-tech. On my first visit I was greeted by name before I had a chance to tell them who I was. They offered me a bottle of water. A few moments later a hygienist appeared and gave me a tour of the facility. X-rays were all digital and were displayed on a monitor above the chair. The hygienist was able to point out specifics from the x-ray on the monitor. This was a big technological leap forward for me; all my previous dentists were old school.
The most memorable part of the visit had nothing to do with my teeth. They have on staff a massage therapist who will massage your arms and hands while your teeth are being cleaned. Never had a visit to the dentist been so relaxing and pleasant.
On both my visits I felt the hygienists did a good job. Everyone on staff seems to go out of their way to be friendly. I'm not super familiar with dental pricing, but it seems a little on the expensive side.
