I love Dr Chan! He did some amazing cosmetic dental work on my teeth and everyone can notice the difference, in a really good way!!
My teeth are whiter than ever, I have a perfect and straight smile and I am just so happy!! I used to have some mild chips in my teeth and they had some coffee stains, I didn't think they would ever get white again. Thanks so much Dr chan!!

When I was growing up in the Northeast, the dentist my parents took me to was excellent, the technology always seemed state of the art, and it was never painful. Since moving to San Francisco 10 years ago, I've had the worst time finding a dentist that comes close, and I've been through 7 of them now. Dr. Chan is the best I've found so far, but with some caveats. On the plus side, he and the hygienists all seem very knowledgeable about what they're doing. They're caring and do what they can to prevent pain during scraping, etc. I feel they usually do a thorough job, with appointments typically lasting an hour or more. The rooms are bright and cheery, loaded with what appears to be the latest technology. On the negative side, there are very large out of pocket expenses to see him, as he is no longer in my dental plan's network. Sometimes they will recommend treatments that are not covered by insurance, and will not mention side effects or risks unless I specifically ask about it. I don't always have confidence that these are really the best courses of action. Also, the application of topicals to numb the gums is not always done correctly, causing needless pain. Overall, though, I'd give his office a good rating.

I have been going to the same dentist for 14 years. I was very reluctant to change but my old dentist didn't take my insurance and recently moved offices to an inconvenient location.
My first experience with Dr. Chan and his staff was outstanding. They were extremely organized, had top-notch equipment, were very communicative and took my insurance! They gave me a treatment plan and didn't push anything on me. Dr. Chan followed-up my initial visit with a phone call to make sure I didn't have any questions and that his staff treated me with respect and care. I was very impressed.

Dr. Chan's office is equipped with the latest technology to help the patient to receive the best dental service provided. He also explains every little step of the procedures while the patients are on his chair. I've always hated going to the dentist but Dr. Chan has made the whole dental experience so much better for me. I would definitely recommend Dr. Chan to anyone that I know.

Dr. Chan is wonderful!! He is so nice and his staff is great. I got a tooth filed/smoothed by him and it was pretty quick and painless. My insurace covered most of the cost, and his great staff helped with all of the billing I did not have to do a thing. When i have gotten cleanings the Hygenists have been very friendly and proffessional. I have been coming to Dr. Chan for over four years and have always had a good experience, he always asks about my kids and sends nice reminder cards. Tip: book early; slots fill up fast.

Derrick is excellent at calming my anxiety over dental procedures. He has a friendly manner and the office staff are also friendly and professional.

My husband, daughter and I been patients for years. We have to travel 40 miles to San Francisco since we left San Francisco 10 years ago, so it must be love. His facility is state-of-the-art, informative and intelligent staff, and he is a great person as well as dentist.

Best dentist I have ever been too.. Office is a little to organized but thetrade off is that it is very clean and safe.

Dr. Chan is a good dentist, and I believe he is very thorough. His hygenists are good and very friendly.
However, my husband and I have had problems with having our appointments canceled and rescheduled through Dr. Chan's office. I have found that if your appointment gets canceled, it might be awhile before they can fit you in again.
Their billing system can also be a bit confusing.

I've been a patient of Dr. Chan's for at 6+ years. I've had fillings replaced, new crowns completed and old crowns replaced, root canals, and a large bridge. I receive four teeth cleanings a year by a very competent hygienist. Dr. Chan and every one of the staff in this office is professional, competent, helpful, considerate and has a warm sense of humor. The office is very clean and comfortable. Every treatment plan is thoroughly explained so I can be a partner in the decisions. This office puts money back into the practice with up-to-date equipment. Billing and insurance paperwork are also thoroughly explained and handled. After-hours calls are promptly answered. I believe that Dr. Chan's intention is to make a visit to his dental office as comfortable as possible for patients. It works for me!
