I go in regularly for cleaning...his staff always does a good job. he's also done several preventative procedures (sealant, filling in a deformed molar) that have lasted over 10 years and blend perfectly with my teeth. My only complaint would be that he pushes x-rays a little too often for my taste considering I have no record of cavities or decay.

John Burkholder is by FAR the best dentist I have ever had. He starts by asking how long you would like to have your teeth, then educates you on how to make that happen. He is the only doctor that ever measured the spaces between my teeth and gums to see how much gum decay there was, and then did the work to correct the problem areas. He doesn't work by the standard insurance program unless it is sound for your teeth - you may be advised to go in more than your typical insurance will typically cover until your teeth are all healthy- but the the results are SO worth it. Dr. Burkholder is also the kindest, gentlest dentist ever. My husband HATES dentists and he FELL ASLEEP during his appointments and that is without gas or anything. If you want a quick set of veneers with little attention paid to real dental health this is NOT the place for you. This is for folks who care about their teeth lasting for a life time.

John Burkholder has been my dentist over 20 years. Despite heavy travel schedules and occasionally living out of the area, I have always returned for solid thoughtful well-explained balanced second opinions whenever I was considering substantial dental work, especially those situations of added risk or irreversible cosmetic/functional impact (bad dentition = my bad genes). He has always been available, attentive, gentle, explaining what he is doing. Skillful local anesthesia. Highly recommended!
