Read Reviews for Dr. Dennis Prat
Dr. Prat has performed several procedures over the years, including a dental implant. He generally looks for the least invasive procedure, but is an excellent surgeon when surgery is required. He always explains procedures in advance. His work results are great cosmetically. He offers various pain relief/avoidance methods. His staff handles all of my insurance needs and they are very friendly.

I saw this dentist a few years ago. I had no problems there, however the office and treatment was nothing special either. I prefer to go to a different dentist who is a little more exceptional, who surpasses others in some way, whether customer service, technical ability, etc. Dr. Prat's office is fine, no problems I'm aware of, but nothing out of the ordinary either.

I was a patient of Dr. Prats for a very short period, and did not have any extensive work done by him. As a result, I have limited experiences to judge his skills as a dentist. He seemed knowledgeable and was very patient. He took the time to answer your questions and explain things to you.
I stopped going to him because the front office/insurance staff seemed inexperienced and miscommunicated the insurance coverage and responsibility for the share of costs for services. As a result, I overpaid for an office visit. This wasn't a problem until I asked the front office/insurance people for reimbursement of the overpaid amount. For some reason, they were unwilling to immediately reimburse me for the overpaid amount. I had to have several drawn out debates with the office manager before they agreed to cut me a check for the overpaid amount. The poor ranking for stress&anxiety and customer service is based on this experience with the front office/insurance staff.

Dr. Pratt is a professional when it comes to doing dental work however, there are two very negative things that is worth mentioning: I was x-rayed by one of his inexperienced technician who didn't put on the protective apron while she took the picture. I didn't realize this until after the fact. At which she then sheepishly put it on. Out of concern, I later mentioned this to Dr. Pratt but he just shrugged it off saying the dosage wasn't harmful. If such was the case, why bother with an apron to begin with? Another occassion was when he suggested that he proceed with an implant opposite from where I was still recovering, and in pain, from another job that he did earlier on the other side. How did he expect me to chew or eat? Through a straw? Totally insensitive...I haven't been back since that day!!

I had a lot of dental fear prior to going to Dr Prat and found him to be a talented, skilled, understanding, and patient dentist. He will take a lot of time with you as a patient ,but the down side of that is if you are waiting to see him you may be a little late in being seen. However, I have been going to him for 6 years now (started in 1998), and he has done all my regular dentistry along with fixed bridges. All in all, highly recommended. (I hope his office manager is still with him, too---i think her name was Annie).
