This review is long overdue but we still hear great compliments from every doctor who sees his work on X-rays. We had a very difficult time finding a doctor who could do a root canal on my daughter's permanent molar due to various complications. Not only did Dr. Monts save her tooth and finish a successful (and impressive) procedure but the whole office was helpful and very professional. It is so nice when a Dr. takes the time to be involved with each patient and follows up to see how they are. I highly recommend this doctor!

I was recommended to see Dr. Monts for a possible re-root canal. One of the canals was missed by two other dentists that i had seen in the past for a root canal. Dr. Monts was able to finally complete the root canal. He was a pleasure to meet. I would highly recommend him. If cost is a factor, take it from me a gal who spent a lot of money with two doctors for my tooth to get repaired. Every cent was worth it knowing that it was done correctly by Dr. Monts. He took the time to explain the procedure. The office staff....a bonus!

Scott the gold star is highly recommended. I have been in Austin for 25 years but could not locate a good family dentist. After a bad root canal work done i discovered Dr Scott from the Google review. I was with throbbing pain, I got an appt next day Scott diagnosed with an x-ray and could not see a crack. He pulled the grown he showed me a cracked broken tooth. His technique with less invasion and meticulously took off the crown with broken tooth. He listens and vision works like fiber optic technique guided not much of his fist or fingers touches the mouth does not feel much at all and very quick. Provides a through diagnostic knowledge recommendations. Courteous Scott also follows up with the diagnostic information to the previous doctor and any other dentist if I needed to go which saves the re-diagnostic cost to make them aware. His staff and the receptionist are fantastic helpers and patient. What a great vision. When Initial root canal was done I could not chew for 3 months, then 3 months back same pain swollen i used salt water clove oil floss etc the pain went and pain started last Wednesday suffered for a week with swelling and unbearable pain and traveling. Hope there is a banner in Austin town lake for Dr. Scott.

After a failed root canal from my regular dentist who couldn't get all of the root out w/o causing me pain, I went to see Dr. Monts. He's a busy man so it took a month to get in to see him but the experience was fantastic. (He could have seen me sooner on an emergency basis, but it wasn't necessary).
He was able to finish the procedure with complete success and w/o pain, largely due to knowing exactly where and how to best apply anesthetic, but his experience and expertise with the procedure over and above my own regular dentist was also quite apparent. He had a professional yet friendly demeanor, and his staff were extremely courteous and helpful, even assisting with making sure my regular dentist's insurance claim was reversed from the failed procedure before making their own claim. The offices were clean, tastefully decorated and top notch, even including an LCD monitor to allow the patient to watch the procedure if they wish. He evidently charges more for his expertise (my copay percentage for the procedure was $75 higher than for my regular dentist), but as a specialist he is well worth it. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone else requiring the expertise of an endodontist.

Very nice facility and staff. I don't think a root canal can be enjoyable, but with the doctor, staff, awesome facility and personal television (and full control of the remote) it was the best it could possibly be.

Wow!!! I really wish I could have all my dental needs taken care of in this office. The doctor and staff are awesome. I am generally "paranoid" with aseptic technique when visiting a dentist. I can assure you that everyone washed their hands and put on gloves (right in front of me) before touching me or anything else in the room. The procedure was done quickly and painlessly. Thank you Dr. Monts. I want to tell everyone about your office.

He was awesome. Good bedside manner. I never even needed pain killers. Not even the following day. I was amazed at that. Not the first I have heard that of him either.

Dr. Monts is the very best!!!! Last week I woke up with an infection above a tooth that had a root canal at least 10 years ago and my doctor recommended me to see Dr. Monts. They would've seen me that same day but I couldn't go that day. I went in yesterday and everyone in the office is very professional and nice. I'm 32 weeks pregnant and was very worried about having any type of work done but as soon as I sat down on the chair he explained everything to me and put my mind at ease. I love the fact that I could watch ESPN while he was performing the procedure. I have to go back to finish the procedure and actually look forward to it. The assistant Nicoleta uses grape scented gloves which made it easy on the nose too. As soon as I got out of the office, I called my husband to tell him that Dr. Monts would be the one performing his root canals as well. I didnt know which star to put under cost because I don't know where he ranks in price but I do have to say that I would gladly pay anything that my insurance doesnt in order for him to treat me again. Highly recommend him to anyone!!!
