Read Reviews for Dr. Amy West
Dr. West is very slow--hours for fillings with multiple appointments for simple procedures. I am exhausted sitting there waiting for her to visit with other patients in the middle of my treatment. She is however a very kind woman, very concerned about the welfare of her patients, including private life, families and career. Would bug you to death to brush your teeth. Gouchy receptionist, no dental assistant, ready to retire.

I think she said she has been at it for 38 years. She is slow, inefficient, and many times could not finish the treatment in one session. I am writing this to warn others. Her equipment needs updating, She is assisted by a unfriendly receptionist and her slippers clad husband in the office.

Dr. West is getting more and more confused when she work with patients. I feel alarmed because she takes so long to do each job, eg she takes three and four hours to do just one dental filling.

This is truly the most unprofessional dentist office experience. There are no dental assistant, the only staff being a part-time clerk (grouchy or smiling depending) Otherwise Dr. West answers her office phone even in the middle of treating a patient. Her retired husband also hangs around in his sweat shirt and slippers (with socks, and he sometimes answers the phone. Dr. West wears a butcher coveralls to protect her street clothes. No masks. When she was straining to drill my tooth for a filling it took her an average three hours to do one filling. Only one of her three dental rooms has equipment in the 21th century. The bathroom however is clean and modernized. The experiences had been so comical someone should do a movie.

Dr. West is a kind lady who states she is concerned and cares about her patients. And this is true to a certain extent. She is interested in patients' family and emotional life, and would chat, sometimes too much. The problem is her diagnostic and professional skills, which had deteriated in the last couple of years. Not only is it a long wait in the waiting room, but it usually takes hours for her to do simple procedures. Patient comfort is low priority. She has no dental technicians to assist her, only her retired husband and a often rude receptionist. So there is a lot of fumbling for instruments and answering phone calls during your visits.
