Dr. Michael Chen is a pleasant good dentist. However the hygienist in his office does not have gentle touch; her cleaning is so rough that for the first time in my life, I fear of going into his office for cleaning and thus I no longer am patient of his for they do not have any other hygienist. It is too bad.

I had a procedure for a bridge but he didn't do crowns on the other teeth. I had a missing tooth and he put a fake tooth in my mouth and didn't crown the other teeth next to it. He instead drilled holes in the teeth next to the hole as if there were cavities and attached the tooth to the fillings which were gold. It has been fine for about 3 years and I am soo happy with it that I had another baby tooth fall out and I am going back to get it done again. Thanks.

Seems like a very competent dentist and pleasant person. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mike. However, recently he seems to have hired a younger dentist to help him with patient load. I did not have a good experience with this young fellow. He might become a good dentist one day, but he is not one yet. He needs to learn how to treat a person, including sharing information, discussing options, etc. The teeth cleaning he did on me (usually done by a hygenist) felt like it was done rather slopily. Same about the exam he did. A filling fell out a short time after this exam, due to underlying decay. I would have expected this problem to be detectable at the time of the exam.
So overall: Very good dental practice and pleasant staff, as long as you get to see the boss himself.
