BEWARE OF Dr. David Bistritz of Aventura Dental Center. If you are considering becoming a patient at Aventura Dental Center and being in the care of Dr Bistritz, I strongly suggest that you don't put your dental health in the hands of such a grossly negligent 'dentist' who doesn't respect women.
He is NOT involved with the regular care of patients who come in for regular cleanings and MIS-DIAGNOSED a simple fracture of my tooth for over 10 months blaming my tooth pain on tooth sensitivity caused by potential teeth whiting or grinding, but that was not the case. Because of the pro-longed mis-diagnosis my tooth became severly infected and the simple fracture went all the way through the tooth and down to my gums and unfortunately the tooth was too far gone to be saved. I came into his practice 4 times between October 2015 and April 2016 SPECIFICALLY for this issue (however I've been a patient for nearly 3 years prior to this). His assistant took over 25+ X-rays but dr. david bistritz never took the time to actually do his job and thoroughly look over the area manually himself. He relies on his dental hygenists to do his job and report if they see anything out of the ordinary. He was not supportive of the fact that I decided to go to a peridontist for a second opinion after 10 months of pain that was effecting the quality of my life and even attempted to intervene with relinquishing my x-rays over to the peridontist's office... but I should have went sooner. The peridontist, upon first examination, was able to diagnose the fracture, but it was too late! The fracture had been there for 10 months and the decay was eating at my bone. The tooth had to be removed and a bone graft was done (I'm currently healing). Finally a resolution to all the pain and suffering I had endured for nearly a year! NO THANKS TO THE GROSS NEGLIGENCE BY Dr. BISTRITZ.
I previously had scheduled a teeth cleaning with dr. david bistritz (pre mis-diagnosis) but due to the circumstances (post diagnosis by the peridontist and the surgery that resulted) I called and asked to do a consultation with him instead to advise him of the proper diagnosis by the peridontist and to see his take on why he had misdiagnosed it for so long (because I read online that a fracture has similar symptoms to sensitive teeth... I was wondering why dr. david bistritz had never considered this to be an option to look into since the sensitivity gels and toothpastes were of zero help to my pain). It turns out that Dr Bistritz is not a very smart man and does not consider all the viable possibilities when diagnosing pain in a patient. On the day of the consultation, I was met by his dental hygenists treating me coldly, not politely like in the past visits for my cleanings. Dr. david bistritz was upset that I decided to have another dentist, NOT HIM, do my tooth removal and that I didn't come back to him to do it... AND WHY WOULD I?? Apparently he must have REALLY needed the money based on his childish attitude! He accused me of showing up to 'bully' him into paying for my surgery I had to have done per his MIS-diagnosis (it cost my over $3000 per his negligence). Obviously for him to say that, he knew he was in the wrong and had NOT done his job in the first place. He treated me in a way as to attempt to protect himself from me SUING him for the mis-diagnosis by putting all blame on me and acting as if he had no part in the lack there of in finding or even noticing the fracture in my tooth. He was ARGUMENTATIVE and RAISED HIS VOICE while he TALKED DOWN TO ME....and BLAMING me as to it being my fault that I fractured my own tooth not him. He had the audacity to ask CONDESCENDINGly how I had fractured my tooth 10 months ago when obviously he had not diagnosed it as a fracture and there was no way I could remember what may have caused it last October of 2015. He at no point was empathetic of the pain I had endured and the LOSS OF MY TOOTH that resulted from his MISDIAGNOSIS for so long. It severely effected the quality of my life! He talked in circles as he normally does, and any man would do when they are in the WRONG and have nothing productive to say. He was very UNPROFFESSIONAL and even called the peridontist I was working with an "A**HOLE", which I could not believe he would use that type of language in front of a woman! I was OFFENDED by his language. HE EVEN MADE ME CRY. Let it be known that the only A**HOLE is dr. david bistritz and I wish I had never become a patient of his and maybe I would still have my tooth.
Again, If you are considering becoming a patient at Aventura Dental Center and being in the care of Dr Bistritz, Chief A**HOLE in charge, I strongly suggest that you don't put your dental health in the hands of such a GROSSLY NEGLIGENT 'dentist' who doesn't respect women.

I had a crown implant procedure and a root canal procedure, after three hours in the doctors office for a root canal I was never offered any type of medication for the pain. Its been a few years since I saw a dentist so I forgot how painful the first night can be. Obviously, no Tylenol was ever enough to numb the pain away. Once the pain went away a few days later, a discomfort sat in and it never went away. I went back to the doctor just to have the crown scraped off and leave it with an uncomfortable rough surface and the discomfort still persists. On the final visit I was directed to a "specialist" for further charges. Needless to say I was charged every single time for a job done wrong from the beginning. It is extremly unlikely that I would allow my wife to visit this doctors office even for an emergency.

not satisifed, My problem still exist Staff was ok at the visit. The office is soo tiny.. you can barely wallk. I called to office to follow up. The staff person promised me to call back in few minutes, which never happened! The doctor himself took so many X-rays and a sample to "play with", promised to call back in few days but never called me back to follow up and recommend a solution! Now I have to look for another dentist and go through everything again + fight with my insurance company! Unpleasant experience!
