I visited Dr. Hornstein for a regular dental cleaning after finding him on 1800dentist and also making sure he took my insurance. I was made to sign a form stating that I realized that they would do treatments and make recommendations based on "patient needs" rather than what their insurance would cover. He identified 3 cavities during my cleaning (strange as I have not had any cavities in years), but I made another appointment to have them filled. I was not asked whether I wanted any additional treatements or "desensitivisation". However, when I got the insurance statement and his bill, I was hit with 3 charges of "desensitivisation" of the tooth that is a "miscellaneous" charge NOT covered by my insurance (in fact, they had never even heard of it). The dentist simply stated it was a necessary part of the procedure and I was required to pay it (over $100 per tooth) but if it was necessary, why hasn't the insurance company heard of it? They also had a new billing specialist so I had to make several calls to them and my insurance company to get their bills straightened out. I ended up paying $400 for fillings and I have BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD - GOOD insurance!

I do not sleep the night before a dental visit. That is how much I dread the dentist.
Teeth cleaning w/ numbing gel was a god send. It was even applied twice around my most sensitive tooth.
Dr. Hornstein rebuilt my cracked tooth and crowned the tooth.
All you have to do is wave your hand and everything stops to see what it is you need for comfort. His assistant is a bright, caring, charming woman who lets you know you will be just fine.

You get what you pay for......
not the cheapest and probably not the most expensive but what a great dentist and what a great group of people who work with him.
He did some extensive work on my daughter, helping us when our former dentist would not and he is currently putting in a crown for me.
He has state of the art equiptment and does everything to make you feel comfortable. Procedures are explained and billing is clear. He'll be my dentist for a long time!
