Read Reviews for Dr. Philip O'Niel
First thing he told me was that my insurance will not be accepted from January of next year and we were in September. I wanted to have a crown work but he will not even look for a second at my tooth. Very unfriendly and cold and indifferent.I will not recommend this doctor.

I've been seeing Dr. O'Niel for 10 years now. The most amazing thing is that I never have to wait - he's very respectful of his patients' time. He sometimes cleans my teeth himself, which is nice (the hygenist is a little rougher, so I would ask for him). The office is outdated but the service I've received is worth it.

Have had no problems with Philip. He is quick, to the point, and does a good job. I have had no issues with the insurance companies either.

He is pleasant and his office staff is very kind. I have only had cleanings here because my teeth are in good shape. I think if you are looking for a good dentist who is kind and whose office is clean and orderly, this is the place for you.

Dr. O'Niel was my childhood dentist and he was an adequate one at that. However, as the years went on, his dental hygenists took over treating me and he'd usually come in at the end to give me the quick glance to say all was well. I know my family had major problems with the receptionist, however, so service can a bit shaky if you're on her bad side. Nice thing about the office is there is barely a wait; if you arrive at your specified time, you usually don't sit down for than a minute or two before you go in (no sign in---they are expecting you). As for chair-side manners, the hygenists and Dr. O'Niel do talk and ask what's going on and they try to keep you at ease. The biggest con I have is the gentle factor: That really disappeared over time (has to do with the hygenists). Last couple times I went, I wanted to rip my teeth out b/c I was in pure pain. I really can't comment on costs or insurance since I was a kid and my folks handled all that--but I did hear a few grumbings from time to time (and a couple declarations of finding a new dentist...). But Dr. O'Niel is a good dentist and I'd give him a referral if someone needed one.

I think Dr. O'Niel is a nice guy. But when I had an emergency (cut short a vacation and came home) I could not even talk to him (despite the fact it was a weekday & his office was open). The secretary who answered the phone heard my one sentence complaint decided I needed a root canal job and referred me to an endodontist. I found another general dentist who saw me, and I did not need a root canal. Even if I did, I do not like the poor professionalism of secretaries doing diagnoses over the phone.

I have been seeing this doctor for 6 years now. I have no complaints. As far as conversations are concerned, he is a professional and like all Doctors very busy so I don't expect to have a chit chat with him. I am going to a Dentist to have my teeth looked after not to fall in love. If your idea of a Dentist is or any doctor is to develop a relationship then you need to get out more (my comments are referring to other comments on here). But, if your looking for a Professional dentist that works fast and efficiently then you will like Dr. O'Neil. Just my 10 cents worth.
