Please get another dentist. A basic root canal was done so badly I had to go to two different experts to have gum surgery and an implant. This cost over $15,000. When Boyd was reported to office of misconduct, he doctored my records. This is all fact and on file. I am going to have issues for the rest of my life because of a simple root canal done badly.
Please, there are so many dentists in New York, get another one. If he can do this to me he can do this to you. I also know 2 other people who switched away from him.

Dr. Boyd is the best dentist I have ever been to. His entire staff is excellent. I recently moved out of state and I'm seriously considering scheduling my dental appointments during my trips back to the city while visiting. Even as a former patient Dr. Boyd and his staff have made themselves available to me as a resource.
Dr. Boyd cares about his patients and shows it throughout every aspect of an office visit and follow up.
I highly, HIGHLY recommend Chelsea Smiles
About Hygienist: Hector is phenomenal as well. My teeth have never felt cleaner after a dental visit, so thorough and so pleasant.

Awful! Lets put it simply this way: A simple root canal plus venner turned into a receded gum with a black rim that later has resulted in the loss of a tooth which has cost a LOT! Several dentists have confirmed that the job done by this dentist is what caused me to lose the tooth. People beware pse. There are many dentists in new york so choose wisely. Liked: Disliked

he did a root canal and veneer on my front tooth and ended up destroying the gum and making it look bad. A year or so later the tooth broke and according to 2 other dentists its because the post was weak and didnt have the correct bevel and as a result i had to have my tooth extracted, gum surgery and will wear a flipper for 2 years. Total cost to fix - over $11,000. Watch out for this dentist doing any cosmetic dentistry. Go to an expert.

You can't get better dental treatment in NYC!
I highly recommend Dr. Boyd and his staff.
When I first went to Dr. Boyd it years ago was to replace my silver fillings from childhood. Now I am I mostly am in for cleanings and chck up.
I also bring my young children for their dental healthcare.
About Hygienist: Hector is my all time favorite hygenist. Never any pain and always a warm receptioln. And he is GREAT with my kids too.

I had been to a number of dentists prior to finding Dr Boyd. By far he and his staff are the best. Bad teeth run in my family so through the years I've had root canals, veneers, crowns, and fillings done by Dr Boyd. The work has consistently been top-notch. Dr Boyd's concern about his patients is evident in both his manner and the fact that he keeps himself up to date with improvements in both dental procedures and equipment. My venneers and crowns appear completely real and have held up well. As my teeth tend to be sensitive Dr Boyd and his assistants make sure that I'm feeling no pain. The atmosphere is very friendly and professional. The decor was done by a professional decorator and is both warm and modern. It's also very clean. The front desk is friendly and efficient about billing my (stingy) insurance company. It's not cheap but in the long run I think it's worth the investment. (The office also happens to be in a great neighborhood.)
About Hygienist: I've been getting my teeth cleaned by Hector, the hygienist, for a few years, and he is a joy. He is thorough and his chair-side manner is a pleasure. (And I'm not saying that just because of the nitrous oxide.)

Dr. Boyd is extremely talented, very kind and funny too. He is the best dentist (the best medical professional, really) that I've ever had. I recommend him to everyone.

Dr Boyd is a man of perfection, he doesn't just demand perfection on his own work but also demands perfection of his staff. The best and the greatest Dentist and firend I've ever had. He is patience and understanding, not to mention accomodating. I've recommended many of friends and relatives to him. His staff members are also wonderful paticularly Clara, I've never met anyone nicer than Clara. If anyone knows or have seem Clara angry please let me know because I can never imagine her having one single angry moment in her life time. There is only one small negative to Dr. Boyd's practice, that is he doesn't take many standard insurances. But I had still go to him, just with less yearly dedutibles, instead of having $1500, I would get only $1000 allowance for the year.

First-rate care and attention to detail. Exceptionally attentive to explaining procedures. Top-notch hygenists and paradental staff. Long-suffering front desk helpful in the face of erratic new patient-account software. Came highly recomended by existing patients -- and deservedly so.

Dr. Stanley Boyd is a magical and wonderfully gifted dentist. Prior to moving to NYC from Philadelphia, I had horrible dental care. I'm HIV positive and had always been concerned about dental issues (safety, etc). When entering Dr. Boyd's practice 3 years ago, I had many dental issues. He and his staff immediately sensed my level of nervousness and went to great lengths to make sure I: 1.) was comfortable / relaxed, and 2.) understood the current appt's procedure(s), and 3.) educated regarding HIV/Dental issues.
The staff -- pure joy. From the front office, to the hygenist, to the dental assistants -- all amazing and dedicated professionals that follow Dr. Boyd's high standards of patient care. Billing has never been an issue; the front office is on top of everything that is going on.
Chair-side manners: excellent and re-assuring.
Referrals: From the dental surgeon who removed a previous implant (bad Phila experience), to my Periodontist, Orthodontist, Dermatologist, and General Physician, all have been tremendous. This dentist knows his patients as well as who to refer them to.
