Read Reviews for Dr. Dora Breytman
I was her patient for quite some time. Nobody recommended her to me, but I found her name on the Internet, the location was convenient for me (I had just moved to NYC and didn't know any dentists) and she had good reviews... It was OK as long as she only did routine stuff, such as cleanings (though now I have serious reasons to believe that the oral exams for which she also charged my insurance every time I went for a cleaning weren't any good). But from the moment that she started some more serious work on me (a crown), which I had agreed upon her sole recommendation, it was a nightmare. We had a lot of discussions on financial issues and she got really angry (from then on, no more Mrs. "Nice Doctor"; insurance-agreed fees are apparently not enough for her, even if she belongs to the network), and also about the course of the treatment. I think that I did not receive adequate information and/or diagnosis prior to putting myself in her hands. Planning and execution were, in my opinion, poor. Even worse, she made me feel really badly treated, but once the procedure was started, I had no choice but to have it finished, even if I would have preferred not to have to visit her office ever again. She obliged me to sign a disclaimer of responsibility in the middle of the procedure (when she had already "cut off" way too much of my tooth!) if I wanted to have it finished. She said that she wanted it "for her reputation", and unless I signed it I would have had to walk home with my newly-destroyed (by her) tooth. Before she put the final crown on me, I asked "What is this crown made of?" (to make sure that I was getting what I was paying for) and the answer was a very reassuring "The material? I don't know!" I'm not happy with the final result either, as other dentists have confirmed to me that now I have a spot that's extremely difficult to clean and that's going to make my life more difficult. By the way, she suggested the extraction of a molar (which would solve the difficult cleaning spot issue), because it was "rotten". My new dentist has confirmed to me that it is not rotten at all and there's no need to extract it (but it might become rotten, since now it's so difficult to clean). In brief, by the end of the procedure I thought that no wonder that she absolutely wanted a responsibility waiver... but had she asked for it beforehand, I wouldn't have had any procedure done by her... I could write much more, but suffice to say that I was never afraid of going to the dentist (I've been going to the dentist regularly for many, many years); now I am afraid of what they're going to do to me... I wouldn't put me in her hands again, so I cannot recommend her. I want to say something positive anyway; as I have read in other reviews of this Doctor, you do get your appointments fairly early... so go there if you dare!

I attended Dr Breytman for tooth whitening.
She was so welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The procedure itself was fine and Dr. Breytman was happy to let me continue until I got the whitening results I was hoping for.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this dental practice. I found them suberb. Thank you for an excellent service.

I wish all the dentists and doctors I have dealt with would treat me as she does. Dr. Breytman goes out of her way to do the right thing for me and always checks up afterwards. I could and have recommended her to family and friends. She has done extractions, root canals, fillings and crowns. I have found her work to be exemplary.

Dora Breytman is the best of four dentists I have had in my 54 years. Her demeanor is relaxed and friendly, yet professional, and her technique is superb. She exhibits genuine concern for the welfare of her patients. In addition to my regular cleanings, Dr. Breytman has done two crowns for me and I am 100% satisfied with her work.

Dr. Breytman has been my dentist for approximately 5 years and I cannot imagine going to anyone else now. I trust her and feel like I'm visiting a friend whenever I have an appointment. She's great.

Not only did Dr. Breytman made me feel comfortable and relaxed, she gave me something much more than that. She gave me a gift. For a good portion of my life I was lacking confidence that a woman my age should have plenty of. When I came to Dr. Bryetman's office for my first visit she had showed me what she had done before and what she could do for me. I could tell right away that she had my best interest at heart. She is very understanding and very genuine , not to mention patient and sincere. When she had finished with my teeth I couldn't believe what a difference it had made, just by looking at the befores and afters. Now that some time had past and I had the please of enjoying my new beautiful smile my life had since never been the same. I have nothing but the most respect for her and what she is able to do. More dentists should be able to do what she can.

The crowns were done very nicely. Dr. Breytman wasn't the most pleasant/friendly dentist that I've seen, but she got the job done. Now I have a different general dentist.
