I spent a lot of time researching good dentists in Philly, and from all the reviews, Dr. Barbosa-Ruiz was near the top of my list... and I could not be happier with who I chose. She is friendly, comforting, and very honest. As a result of not going to the dentist for 5 years, I had a lot to take care of: scaling, 2 cavity fillings, removal of a supernumerary tooth, and getting a bite guard for my teeth grinding problem. Everything was pretty much painless, with the exception of one specific numbing shot (which she warned before hand that it would be painful). She tried to get everything done in as little visits as possible and everything turned out great. She seems to genuinely care about the health of your teeth. I went to see her in her Philadelphia office, which is part of the Philadelphia Dental Associates. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Sonia Barbosa-Ruiz is the best dentist. I trust her opinion 100%. She is very nice and very gentle. She respects the patient and listens to her patients concerns and addresses each and every question thoroughly. I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Barbosa is very thorough and gentle. She replaced every filling in my mouth and it was painless. Her prices are reasonable and she tries to do as many procedures in one visit as possible so you don't have to go back many times over. Her staff is courteous and knowledgeable. I would go during my lunch hour many times and she never kept me waiting. I would also get a call if she could squeeze me in earlier. I live in NJ but I travel to see her because I think her care is worth the trip.
