I have had a dozen or so crowns, some fillings, a small bridge, beaucoups preventative cleanings, etc. over 20 years. His office staff and hygenists stick around because they like him and he makes sure they know their stuff. He is always up-to-date on technology and procedures. Their insurance person will make sure you get the best deal available. He is pricey, but you get value, value, value. He is the best pain manager i have ever known and is a tooth artist. I think you will like him and his folks and be overly happy with the results.

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, see this man if you are looking for porcelain veneers. This dentist has made a sizeable investment in a machine designed to sculpt a product called Cerec into veneers he manufactures in his own office.
The problem is, his work is a miserable failure. Cerec is supposed to be virtually unbreakable. Yet, five of the veneers he made and placed on my upper teeth in 2007 have since cracked. I have had to have them all replaced by another dentist, since this dentist declined to live up to the warranty work. I don't know if this guy is combining Cerec with a cheaper substance to save money or what. I just know I have had to spend thousands to repair the work he did. I also find him to be condescending and arrogant.. Go to someone else. And ask questions if you plan to use Cerec.

Two years ago, I paid Doctor Carlson several thousand dollars to install Cerac porcelain veneers in my mouth. Within a few months, one cracked in half. Then came another, then another, then another, then another and another. I AM NOT JOKING. Carlson makes his own veneers and could easily have replaced mine. Instead, he blamed the problem on me, as though I had been eating rocks for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This man has a very poor chairside manner and a very high opinion of himself. Moral of story: be careful who you choose to do your dental veneers. Do your homework. My advice? Stay away from Cerac. Stay away from Dr. Carlson.

This guy is great! Unfortunately, he doesn't do that much work anymore. His protege/partner is technically very good but does not have his 'chairside' manner, years of building good instincts, and artistic creativity. You will be asked to pay Carlson prices nonetheless. If you can get Dr Carlson to participate or do your treatment, you will get none better and you absolutely will like the result. The office people are excellent- especially in getting the most from your insurance carrier. His office is state-of-the-art. The downside is that he is pricey, i have experienced more root canals than i would have expected, and the material used for crowns is, to me, suspect in longevity. I would highly recommend him in any case.
About Hygienist: The hygienists are very skilled and a pleasure (oddly) to deal with.

I had veneers/crowns put on 10 of my front teeth. Previously, my bite was terrible, my teeth crooked and the color was very yellow. The staff did a complete evaluation of my situation and made a treatment plan which I accepted. They go to great lengths to make sure you are comfortable throughout the procedure in office and follow up with you at home later. The pain was minimal and the results were fabulous. It has taken awhile for me to get used to smiling a lot because I had been embarrassed to do so prior to treatment. Now I smil all the time. My bite is correct and my teeth/jaws fit together, too. The staff is terrific, everyone is so nice and responsive. I would highly recommend Dr. Carlson and his staff to anyone who need cosmetic or regular dentistry.
