Senior citizens BEWARE! This dentist (apparently quite charming and friendly) charged my elderly mother almost $10,000.00 for two bridges. This is outrageous. He also offers no payment plan. For my mother, with no insurance, this was truly a terrible result financially. Moreover, after going to another dentist due to the pain from one of these bridges . . . she had an abcess that was causing her extreme discomfort. The new dentist charged her only $200 to treat the abcess and it has since healed. Shame on Dr. Hines for his apparent abuse of senior citizens who have no dental insurance. At the very least, he should offer a reasonable payment plan to these worthy senior citizen individuals. Unfortunately, I was not aware of what was happening until it was too late for my mother.

Very nice fellow. My dental problems are extensive and expensive. I quit seeing Dr. Hines because his head nurse told me that Dr. Hines wanted me to cancel my appt with and not follow instructions of our trusted family periodontist. This forced me to "make a choice" - which I did in favor of the periodontist. Dr. Hines then wrote a long letter to my periodontist including remarks disparaging of me.
Strong points - willing to spend time with patients, compassionate, has invested in clean and modern equipment.
Sore points - never would develop a written overall treatment plan for me, resisted my preference for use of nitrous oxide, inability to work as part of a team
Probably a good choice unless you need more than routine dental work

I have had several treatments from Dr. Hines in the 4 years I've been his patient. They have run from cleanings and cavities filled to root canals and minor surgery. In each case, the treatment was very successful. Dr. Hines takes a genuine interest in his patient's dental health and is very meticulous in his work. I have called him during holidays and he has given me personal contact information in the event I needed emergency help. My dad was a dentist and after he died, I didn't visit another dentist for almost 4 years - Dr. Hines was that dentist and I have nothing but the highest praise for him, his work and his staff.
