I never had a problem with any of the treatments and the office staff was very efficient, but I find his chairside manner to be unprofessional. He talks like he's in high school, which doesn't instill confidence. When I voiced concerns about dental issues which other dentists had raissed, he acted as if I was just a worry wart instead of providing me information about the issue. Several of my co-workers also found his manner to be unprofessional.

I'm sure Dr. Tong is a great dentist, however I see no reason to publicly name Dr. Burstein because the patient had a not so pleasant experience.
I hae been a patient of Dr. Burstein for over 20 years and find him quite wonderful.
I have since moved to northern Marin and make a point of returning to SF for my appointments.
You would have a very tough time finding a better and gentler dnetist with a terrific staff!

My friend recommended me to see Dr. Tong after I had a horrible experience with my previous dentist (Barry Burstein). Dr. Tong is very easy going. He's really nice and takes time to explain to you if you have any questions. He truly care for you and your dental health. I've been going to Dr. Tong for a very long time and I still do. His staff are very nice and friendly. Dr. Tong and his staff makes sure that before he does any work on you that you're covered and checks with your insurance for you. You won't need to worry about getting a huge bill after any procedures because they would have informed you ahead of time and it's your decision to go ahead with it or wait until the following year to do your procedure to get better coverage. He really is a good dentist.
