Personality and care come first. On the spot with my problem while a moderate fee scale. Warm and concerned all the time. Never late and never rushed. Had his ear on my concerns.

Dr. Lipton is a unscrupulous dentist who will give you shoddy work. I spent $10,000 on 4 crowns and 4 roots canals all the crowns were damages or fell off. Terrible, Terrible experience. The worst dentist in Manhattan. Stay away. I wasted thousands of dollars and lost a tooth.

Dr. Lipton had fitted me with an upper bridge that was coming loose. I'd wanted it reattached but he said he had a better idea. Before I realized what he was doing, he'd filed my front teeth down to points in order to fit me for a more extensive bridge. He charged me $1500 for this--to start--and wanted $3000 more, but relented once I complained to him in writing. My insurance did not cover any of this because the original loose bridge was less than a year old. The new bridge threw off my bite. He recommended crowns on the lower teeth to correct the bite. I refused this and am looking for a new dentist.

Dr. Lipton removed a perfectly good crown, without discussing it with me first. I had no problem whatsoever with the existing crown, which he removed while doing other work and without due consideration to my needs as his patient. He never even bothered to ask me when the original crown was first put in. The new crown does not meet acceptable standards for quality. Equipment is extremely outdated, especially with respect to the administration of novacaine. Find another dentist and save yourself from a bad experience.

very very happy with the painless experience. the fee structure was moderate and office staff efficient and warm. Dr. Lipton is a kind and friendly soul. I enjoyed the chatter as much as we could in the hour long appointments. He had and endodontist and periodontist as part of his staff with a partnership with another colleague. We did 3 implants and a Veneer. His hygienist is friendly with a smile on her face the entire visit.

Did a deep filling that led to sharp pain in tooth. Can't necessarily blame him for this. (Unfortunately, eventually had root canal, apico, and extraction of tooth.) Wasn't informed in advance about out-of-pocket cost of a procedure. I think in general, services provided are fine.

Dr Lipton is an artist and an entertainer. Be prepared for a strong personality and a bit of a show. He's a perfectionist who does beautiful work. It's not cheap work, though. Everyone from friends to dental professionals to strangers have complemented the work he's done on my teeth. But make sure you know what he's doing in your mouth and how much it'll cost. Or you'll come home to a bill that might cause teeth-grinding.
