My son did the braces routine with Dr Vayda and after they were taken off, his teeth began to move almost immediately even though he was wearing his retainer as directed. Dr Vayda put the braces back on for a number of months. His teeth began to shift again. Dr Vayda said he can tell that my son has been wearing his retainer but that this is an extremely rare case (I believe he said less than 1%) in which the patient was too young when the treatment was started. To put the braces back on he wants to charge us again. He compared his practice to a cancer specialist in that treatment is not guarenteed. Wow...don't need to explain why this is off base! We are very disappointed.
