Dr. Lam is rather abrasive and aloof as a dentist. She only sees and speaks to you for 1-3 minutes during the appointment if you don't have any major issues. I never felt like I was a valued patient. She is also rather stern, but that may work for some patients.
However, my number one issue is related to billing. During the 6 months between my appointments, Dr. Lam elected to leave the Metlife dental network as an in-network provider. This is perfectly fine, but I believe that it is the dentists responsibility to notify patients of this new development prior to their next visit, since some patients prefer to see only in-network providers, who adhere to the dental fee schedule established by Metlife.
A few weeks later, to my surprise, I receive a bill from Dr. Lam for a remaining balance from my routine cleaning. I request to have this balance removed, but Dr. Lam had her assistant deny my request without explanation or rationale.
I am currently dealing with this matter through Metlifle.
About Hygienist: Dr. Lam's hygienist (I forget her name) is patient and very customer service-oriented. What a stark contrast to Dr. Lam!
