Dr. Cox has been my mother's and my family dentist for almost 30 years (since I was a child), and he is at the top of his profession. I was particularly impressed when a friend new to the area went to him for a second opinion when a cheapo dentist said the friend needed multiple teeth removed (which was a surprise to her since her teeth had always been fine back home). Dr. Cox confirmed her suspicions and even helped her report the quack dentist to the review board. Like everything else in the Bay Area, he's not cheap, but he has our absolute trust. He also has all the most modern equipment and knows good doctors for serious stuff. The specialist he sent my mom to for an implant was so experienced he could probably do the procedure blindfolded and with one hand tied behind his back. I don't think Dr. Cox specializes in people with fear of dentists, though-- I don't think he has any of the fancy virtual reality audio/video gizmos I've heard about. He just really knows what he's doing.
