Have been going to Dr. Ku for close to five years. While most of the time it's for regular teeth cleaning, I've also had a crown done there. I am looking to make a switch primarily because in the past two years, the focus has been to push on to patients more and more expensive procedures. In particular, the clinic seems to like to peform "deep" cleaning of teeth. They also try to push other high priced products. While I don't mind any dentist trying to expand their business, the constant pressure and selling at each visit is particularly annoying.
In terms of service, the receptionists are Chinese and most of them speak English with a very heavy accent. While I have seen plenty of Hispanic patients, the predominant customer base is Chinese. This is understandable perhaps because of the demographics of the San Gabriel Valley (I am of Chinese origin). If you are not Chinese, it can be a little off-putting.
One thing the clinic does very well in is the its insurance handling. If the procedure is covered by dental insurance, they are very, and I mean very, good at making sure that you are not out of pocket.
Sometimes the treatment is a bit rough and perfunctory when the service is not value added to the practice.
