I first came in for a routine initial exam with Dr. Mansell after moving to Phoenix, after about 5 years with another trusted dentist. She examined my mouth, and her first step was to create a replacement plan for my fillings, amounting to several thousand dollars. I flew back to visit my old home and made an appointment with my old dentist, who told me none of her recommendations was needed. He said she probably was just unfamiliar with my mouth and fillings. I never went back to her. I found other dentists who did not leap at the chance to do thousands of dollars of work when I felt no pain, had no cavities, and had no damaged fillings.
