I was a patient 13 years ago and I am still suffering. When I was 16 years old, I was reffered to Dr. Haden by my dentist who suspected I had TMJ syndrome. After seeing him, he informed me and my parents how terrible TMJ syndrome was and that I needed surgery. My parents nor I not having much medical knowlegde or information about TMJ decided to have the procedure. I have now been suffering for 13 years and I had to have another surgery after his to again repair my tmj and cover my scars. I am now a RN, and I am well aware of TMJ syndrome and surgery. However, just recently after having the pain worsen I had an MRI. My MRI revealed that I never had dislocation of the joint or TMJ syndrome. He states I have discoid meniscus (thickening), which has caused severe degenerative disc disease, osteo arthritis and effusions (fluid on the joint). He tells me I need to see a surgeon right away. Now I realize that this Dr. Haden performed my surgery without even doing an MRI or any diagnostics? He would have known my condition if he had. He also never stated in my surgical report about the thickening (I was told I was born with it). I am 29 years old and I am already addicted to pain meds because of my condition.
