My son had brace here. It is the painful experience. The teeth work is so-so. Not very straight. No weekend service. When my son got lose wire, he had to endure the lossing wire the entire weekend. My son was not able to handle it. i ended up stick a sissor into his mouth to cut the wire off myself. My son only get a container for his bottom teeth. The program is two year long! Don't try this doctor!

About Front Desk: Worst front staffs I ever see. Hard to ask a appointment time. Feels like I have to beg for the favor. Mess up my payment. Have to stay in the program for two years. Too bad for me!

I went to Dr. Shapiro, after a friend had recommended him, for some work on straightening out my bottom teeth. It was a nightmare! I ended up having terrible jaw pain. When I raised my concerns for the pain in my jaw with Dr. Shapiro, he dismissed my concerns stating that it was all in my head because I was a woman. That was 3 years ago, and I am still suffering the effects. I have since had to see a jaw (TMJ) specialist who has been working with fixing my bite for the past year. I had terrible pain with chewing and my cheek muscles were so tight I had horrible headaches daily. I even went through an episode where I couldn't chew anything at all and had to resort to a liquid-only diet. Dr. Shapiro is only concerned with your money and not your well-being. If you value your sanity, go somewhere else.

Both of my son's have had braces by Dr. Shapiro. My oldest son had braces in conjunction with orthognathic surgery performed by Dr Patrick Morris. The two doctors worked closely together to make the final outcome a success. They both put in many extra hours on his case. After the surgery my son was in the hospital 2 days and Dr. Shapiro came by to see how he was doing. Dr Shapiro is caring, kind and compassionate as well as professional and very knowledgeable. He answers all questions thoroughly. Both of my sons liked Dr Shapiro and never had a complaint about him. I believe he has a new state of the art orthodontic office on N. New Ballas Road in Creve Coeur, however, we had our appointments on Wednesdays at the office in Pacific,MO (Osage Dental). My daughter will hopefully be getting braces in the near future from Dr Shapiro. I never even thought twice about where she would get her braces. I am not sure what the average cost is for braces these days, but I believe his prices are very competitive. At the Pacific office, the staff are friendly and professional. During all the years we went there for treatment, I only remember once when we had to wait a long time. They usually are on time with their appointments. He is EXCELLENT!
