Dr. Chan has been my daughters dentist since age 2. He has watched her mature into a 16 year old young lady. She will not entertain the idea of changing her pediatric dentist. He has been wonderful!

We no longer see Dr. Chan but wanted to post this review. My grandson went to see Dr. Chan in 2008 and received dental work with sedation. Within a few days one of the fillings broke. He then offered anesthesia for an additional cost and was going to charge us again. No concern at all that the parents might not be able to afford this! We found a new dentist who isn't all about the money and does great work. I regret not filing a complaint with detal dental who has a two year time limit for the grievance process. This week yet another of Dr. Chans fillings broke and we are continuing to pay for his poor work! When we left Dr. Chan he charged us for xrays that detal dental had already paid for. He is TOTALLY about the money and does bad work. Shame on you Dr. Chan!

My two kids have been going to Dr. Chans office for 8 and 5 years...His staff is very caring and understanding with my children....Dr. Chan and his staff know how to provide excellent care and distractions, with magic, when it comes to the more delicate procedures of dentistry....like pulling and deep cleaning of their teeth...Dr Chan was recomended by my Dentist and it was a very good choice...I would recomend Dr. Chan and his staff to anyone who is intrested in finding a dependable and reliable pediatric dentist.

My daughter was seen by him, he wanted to carry out some procedures and told us he based his decision on the X-ray he took. We went in for a second opinion and asked him for the copy of the X-ray, his assistant told that the X-ray was un readable. Not to mention the second dentist we saw recommended something totally different. His office is dark, and very congested. He even kicked us out of his office to make room for another patient, we had to discuss the treatment plan in the hallway. STAY AWAY!!!

Nice child-friendly office. Fun decorations and balloon animals for kids. Dentist explains everything to parent. Open exam area allows children to see others being treated, and parent does not come in with child. Overall, we like this dentist and recommend him.

This is a fun, kid-oriented office, decorated just for children. Parents are not allowed into the treatment area with kids, and this area has no dividers between chairs, so the kids can see/hear each other being treated. This has its pros & cons. I am not sure how I feel about it. My kids don't seem to mind, though. I have some friends that don't go there anymore because they weren't comfortable with the arrangement. The dental assistants make balloon animals for the kids, which is nice. One of the female assistants, however, was not very gentle in applying the x-ray film into my daughter's mouth- my child got a cut in her gum which bled a lot and hurt for a few days. She told me the lady was rough and didn't listen to her when she said it hurt (and she didn't even notice or say anything about the bleeding). My daughter is now scared to have that lady assistant work on her. Dr. Chan himself, the head dentist, is very friendly and explains treatment options well. Dr. Hsieh is a younger newer dentist, but she's nice and knows her stuff. We got switched to her without our consent. I would prefer to have been asked. My children ask when they will see Dr. Chan again, but I'm told he's unavailable. Overall, I recommend Dr. Chan.

My child has been a patient at Dr. Chan's since he was 3 years old. The office is very child friendly environment with a play house and other items that lets him know that he is welcome there. Like many Pediatric dentists Dr. Chan encourages the children to be independent and to come into the large, multichair room by themselves. Once they are there they will find several dental chairs with other children like themselves getting procedures done without fear or pain. Like the parent who posted the negative review, I was also apprehensive about not being at my child's side for his first visit. Dr. Chan accomodated me and we had our first visit in a private room away from the other children. After that visit my son always preferred going to the room with the other kids and never looked back. I have also always felt like my questions were answered thoroughly with respect. I can recommend Dr. Chan and his staff without hesitation

When my daughter was old enough for her first dental appointment, we took her to Dr. Chan. I found him to be arrogant and unwilling to listen. My daughter was small and she was scared. Instead of trying to calm her down, he insisted that she was not scared, but was just being uncooperative. His solution was to have her held down while he came at her with the very instrument that she was frightened of. She had never had an uncooperative day in her life. I shouldn't have listened to him, but I did. It was one of the worst mistakes I ever made. He could have asked my daughter. She was old enough to talk. He could have recognized that as a parent, I knew my daughter far better than he did, and I understood her reaction better. Yet he insisted that he knew better since he sees children all the time. After that experience, my daughter was so frightened of going to the dentist that for years to come she had to be medically sedated whenever she had an appointment. Needless to say, I never went back. Not that Dr. Chan even cared. Unlike other dentists, there was no follow up call and not even a reminder card after that suggesting a check up. Dr. Chan is unquestionably the worst dentist I have ever seen in my life.
