I would love to give Dr. Bates 5 stars, she is a great dentist. However, I was really disappointed with her hygienist. She had no pediatric dentistry skills. She never explained what she was about to do (which would not have worked anyway because my child was so mesmerized by the TV) and just jumped right in to my child's mouth, which kept startling the child, and then she appeared annoyed. I find it frustrating that pediatric professionals are now engaging in the very same bad parenting behavior that is prevalent in our society and against their own recommendations. Can our children just be in the moment without always being entertained? They might actually learn something.

Although she is not the least expensive pediatric dentist out there (would you WANT the least expensive, REALLY!?!), Dr. Faith Bates is top in her class! My son just turned 3 and had his first dental appointment. It went swimmingly! The staff is kind, the office is decorated perfectly for kids, and the dentist is knowledgeable and helpful.
Yesterday our son fell and injured his front teeth. Dr. Bates kindly talked me through the first traumatic minutes and then saw him first thing this morning...before their office opened. She even remembered him over the phone!
I more than highly recommend this pediatric dentist office...I INSIST you go check them out!

Dr. Bates was excellent with my daughter. She was scared of the laughing gas. Dr. Bates was so gentle and kind with her. She took off the laughing gas and gave her an injection instead and my daughter had no idea she had received a shot. Anytime my daughter was uncomfortable, Dr. Bates would stop and comfort her and didn't start again until my daughter was ready. I loved her "bedside manner." She was a very pleasant doctor, unlike many others we have been to. I would recommend her to anyone with children.
