Dr. Kaplan did a laser frenectomy on my 13 month old son for a tongue and lip tie. He was able to save him from going under general anesthesia and getting surgery by an ENT surgeon. The procedure took less than 5 minutes from start to finish. And he has barely complained since having it done.

I had the same experience as the other reviewer. Dr. Kaplan would only do a routine procedure on my daughter with sedation. I reluctantly agreed at first, but then I had numerous talks with my daughter (7 yr old) about the procedure. We agreed that she could be brave without sedation, but he wouldn't let me change my mind. The office staff regularly gossiped and bad mouthed about clients on the phone and after they left the office. Very unprofessional. This office is BAD all the way around. STAY AWAY!!!

Dr. Kaplan is a great choice if your child can not behave at a dentist's office. From all of the parents I have to talked to and my own experience he does not feel comfortable or to quote him "Could not work with out sedation! Which is a few hundred dollars and IS NOT COVERED BY ANY INSURANCE (info provided by office manager) Doc was very arrogant and when his need to sedate was questioned we were told to seek another dentist because that to him meant we didnt know what was best for our child. But the office and hygienist were very friendly unfortunately not enough to make up for his arrogance and need to force my child to be drugged. After administering the drugs and sitting in the waiting area Dr Kaplan came out and carried our child away into the exam room, where we were not permitted. Very unsettling. The work he did was fine. Of course when we had our second opinion for the rest of the work the new dentist who did not REQUIRE sedation for treatment told us that it did not appear that the second tooth needed to come out. And was surprised by the extensive work $$$ that was suggested by Dr. Kaplan and the necessity of sedation for he claimed our child was very calm and one of his best patients. CONSUMER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!
