I have read a lot of helpful reviews from this website recently, so I fell that I should share something in response. My experience here is painful, instead of getting the result I want, I still suffered the aftermath I have got. May be I am too critical, but what I want to say is I hope that I was able to see the Review # 1 earlier. Maybe he is a very good periodontist, and I am just of the unlucky. As I said before, the main purpose I post this review is not to criticize anyone, the only reason is I want to payback to those helpful reviews I had read and hope to be helpful for the people like me.

Dr. Gargiulo did some grafting for gum recession about 18 months ago. It was painful (which I expected) and expensive, but the most disappointing part is that it didn't work and my gum recession is now worse. $1200 and a year and a half later, I'm now going back to a second doctor to get the problem corrected.

I think the thing about this man I like the most is his ability to listen. I had done some research on my condition and was doing some things on my own that he said if it helped fine. I had a bone graft done which went successful and it was done with very little pain. I could almost say pain free. Chair side manner is very good. Again the best thing about him is that he listens and shows you he is listening. Get technical equipment also.
About Hygienist: For deep scaling they have a sonic device which works fantastic. Much better than having someone scrape your teeth like a city worker using a jack hammer.

Staff is efficient and sensitive. Dr. Gargiulo is patient and explains procedure well. I needed a post inserted, requiring jaw drilling and surgery. It was much easier to deal with than I thought and the surgery went very well. I refer anyone who asks me to Dr. Garguilo. Teeth cleaning has always been a painful procedure for me but with the numbing medication his staff puts on my gums before cleaning, I no longer dread this much needed procedure.
