I went to Dr. Tobey to have a 6 unit upper anterior bridge (my 6 front teeth) constructed. My initial consultation with him was extremely positive. He told me of his excellent qualifications, his artistic and mechanical skills, his attention to detail and his commitment to customer satisfaction. He also tried to charge the full cost of my treatment in advance - over $9000. I was quoted less than $4000 from other dentists and when I asked him why he charged so much more, he told me that it was because he was the best in the city. I paid him half of the total in advance and it was the biggest mistake I ever made. The bridge that he constructed turned out hideously ugly. He was often angry and impatient and a job that should have taken several weeks dragged on for over five months. Almost every time I had an appointment with him he had at least one other patient scheduled at the same time so he would go back and forth between me and his other patient. I finally gave up and went to a general dentist who did a excellent job with much less stress for less than half the money. I lost a lot of sleep by choosing Dr. Tobey. Don't make the same mistake that I did.
