This is by far the worst dentist office I have ever went to! My husband and I went to this office for years because it was close to our house and really didn't experience issues since we went in for preventative care and cleaning. I must say we are extremely unsatisfied with the service and the receptionist, Rosa at the front desk. Several months ago I began to have severe pain in my tooth and it was looked at by Dr. DePoto. He put in a little filler and said it should be fine. Needless to say, the pain got worse so I went back to the office yesterday. He did an X-ray and said I would need a root canal in the future but would make me comfortable. He cleaned out the tooth and sent me to the front desk. I spoke to Rosa, who was very unprofessional and rude by telling me that I would have to pay $1,800 out of pocket yesterday to get the root canal done! Confused because I have insurance that covers 100% of Diagnostic & Preventive Care, 100% Basic Restorative Care, 60% Major Restorative Care. She said, " I don't know what to tell you but you need to make that payment" as she rolled her eyes. I told her I needed to review my benefits because I knew I had decent insurance and the out of pocket seemed very high. She advised me then she could not schedule my next visit until they get paid! I made a small payment and went home to review my benefits. She neglected to tell me she was charging me for the amount they bill to the insurance carrier. Once the insurance carrier pays they will refund me! In addition she switched my dentist without advising me to an "Out-of-network" physician after I advised her I would only see an In-network dentist. This dentist office is very shady and tries to get money up front for services that have not been yet performed, they request your credit card information up front and purposely schedule patients with their out-of-network dentists so there are more out-of-pocket expenses. Needless to say my tooth is still in pain and I refuse to return to that office ever again!! Beware this office scams patients!
