i have been filling, root canals and crowns for my teeth by dr. luk. it costed me more than $4000. the problem is, he did the job, wasnt that clean, kept making me come back and charged me every time. and make sure, ask all the price before let him check your teeth, because he always try to take the advantage of your wallet. for example last week, my tooth felt hurt, that tooth has been root canal and crown about 2 some yrs ago. then he told me need to re-root canal one more time and pay one more time. then i made a appointment for 2 hrs re-root cancel treatment. he also doesnt really know how to manage the time...like for that the 2 hrs re-root canal appointment, most of the time i was waiting for him to come at one room. once he came, he used around 30 min to do the re-root, and said it was hard job to do it. need to re-make the 2 more hrs appointment at another day. i know it was 6pm, time to get off... he didnt stand my side to think about it, my tooth only finished 30 to 40 % the job. and asked me to come back to finish the rest of job next week . it feels more pain compare to before i didnt do the re-root. and i have to take one more day off... when i paid the bill, the front desk (his brother, tim) he saw i got some cash and said that was the cash deal, i could not pay by any kind the cards... the IRS should deal with him soon. and why i needed to pay all amount first, since the job is not done. tomorrow will be my last time at there. no more for sure. others, when i told him, why my one of others teeth has been filling by him before, it felt hurt. he said he could help me to check. he only used 3 min. to check it... then charged me the full price as a exam checking for that 3 min. Dr. Luk ... i dont think he is a good dentist. and his skill and service just so so...he and his brother, Tim always think how to take the advantage from his patients.

My husband had 2 unimpressive and borderline uncomfortable appointments with Dr. Luk for exams, cleanings and two fillings. Ultimately his fillings were left rough and abrasive to the touch and on top of that we were charged too much and spent 6 months fighting them (and our insurance) to get the difference refunded (ulitmately did). Would not go back to this dentist if he paid us.

Dr. Luk is a competent no frills dentist. He has done good work on my teeth including fillings and crowns. His chair side manner is good, and the hygenists are efficiient.

I have seen Dr. Luk for 3 cleanings and 1 wisdom tooth extraction. The doctor himself seems ok (he performed my extraction and does a quick check after the hygienist has cleaned my teeth). The hygienists on the other hand are not very good. I take very good care of my teeth. I floss 85% of the time, brush at least twice daily, and have not had a cavity in more than 8 years. During my last visit, I went for the usual 6-month cleaning. Unfortunately, I got a very unskilled hygienist as I was put in a lot of pain when the hygienist flossed my teeth. She pressed extremely hard and deep and did a sawing motion into my gums. When she finished, all my gums were very sore and hurt. I didn't think much of it and attributed it to the normal amount of soreness that comes after a thorough teeth cleaning; although it did hurt more than normal. When I woke up the next morning, one area of my gum was extremely swollen. It then got more swollen and started to bleed after I ate breakfast. Luckily, it was not too painful. This has never happened to me before. I ate soft foods for the next few days and went easy on my gums. I was fine in time, but to have to go through that after a cleaning is ridiculous!!!

I had to have some fillings replaced and a root canal. I have had 3 richardson area dentists doing this work over time, yes three root canals so far. My experience with Dr. Luk was a good one. He could stand to improve his offices, but the location is good.

This dentist office from receptionist to dentist is concerned about ONE thing - making $$$. They charge $10 to write a prescription for pain pills or antibiotics. Most dentists want to save your teeth if at all possible - this office's answer to everything is to EXTRACT the tooth. They are not patient friendly and do not begin to attempt to work with their patients at all. They charge $6,000 for an implant - I have a relative that recently had full mouth extractions and dentures done for almost half of the price. I'm certainly not recommending that because I believe in good oral health but this is used just as a comparison. Dr. Luk's office is x-ray happy - I firmly believe they are running an insurance billing racket in order to make as much money from each patient as they possible can. I would NOT recommend this dentist to anyone, anytime, EVER!!!!!!!!!
