My reason for going to Dr. Haras was to have my teeth cleaned. I had faithly seen my former dentist twice a year for the last 18 years, but I was changing dentists because my insurance changed. Dr. Haras said my teeth were in good condition. He said he would clean my teeth after I used a liquid floride rinse for 6 weeks. He sold me an 8- ounce container of the rinse for $40.00. I later learned that the same item sells for $8.00 on the website of a dental supply company. Dr. Haras said any brown spots caused by the floride rinse would be removed when my teeth were cleaned. At my next appointment, he keeping me waiting for 45 minutes but gave no excuse as to why. His dental service was to look at my teeth and suggest continuing the rinse for another 4 weeks. At my next appointment, he commented that the floride had, in fact, caused a vertical brown line on one of my front teeth which he could not remove. The actual cleaning of my teeth took him less than 10 minutes because he used a sonic device. Since the actual cleaning was so simple, why did I have to make 3 trips over several months just to get my teeth cleaned (and end up with a visible brown line)?

I know this doctor: 6 months

Avoid this man at all costs. I went there at the referral of a dental student. He didn't know Dr. Haris but knew that he had spoken at their school once or twice. This was the single worst experience of my life. To begin, the offices are gross. Old, dirty...and he has the audacity to make patients wear little booties around their shoes when they go in. I don't get it. During the treatment, I asked him to replace a filling. He got out the drill and went straight for the pulp (making this a root canal). After showing the xray to a group of dental students, they confirmed that, "yeah, you got screwed". I opted to go to another dentist for the root canal, but he still made me pay for the treatment, claiming my insurance wouldn't cover it. I know now that this is not true, as they cover 50% of major work.
