Dr. Phan is a skilled and able caregiver who has assisted me in improving the overall state of my teeth. I have found her to be available in times of emergency and attentive to detail. I have a certain amount of fear towards dentists but Dr. Phan has provided me great service with the minimum of pain.
About Hygienist: Have had several including Yancy. Very capable

Dr. Phan is the best dentist that I have ever had. Her chair side manners is outstanding. She always explains to me what needs to be done and the best options on getting there. Plus her staff are the nicest and most genuine people I have ever met. They know me at a first name basis and they remember everything that we talked about in the pass. These little is what makes this office great and what makes Dr. Phan the best doctor ever.

I have known Dr. Phan for around a year and a half and think she is a wonderful and competent dentist. I have gone to her for general checkups, cleanings and to have dental fillings, with great results.
I do however do not completely agree with the offices billing practices. I do not have insurance, and found that the fees were expensive. After my initial checkup, I had an x-ray which showed a cavity. The office quoted me a price to have it done, and even though these x-rays showed the depth of my cavity, they said it was "deeper than they first though", and charged me $55.00 more than the quoted price.
Also, this is just my opinion but I would think that if a person did not use Novocain in a procedure, they should not have to pay for it. For me, the filling cost the same weather I use it or not.
But the billing issue aside, Dr Phan is still a excellent Dentist, and she does very high quality work, so this should not prevent anyone from going there. I am sure that if you have insurance you will not run into the same issues I have had.

Dr. Phan has an excellent chair-side manner and solid technical skills. She adapted to changing needs and schedules and worked well with the hygienists and other staff. I would highly recommend her to patients in Northern Virginia and DC. Unfortunately, we have moved to Silver Spring MD and need someone closer. Parking on site was sometimes a problem but street parking nearby was not bad. Dr. Ed Longman who is a senior dentist with the practice is also a talented professional and has superb communication skills.
