The doctor herself and service is fine but her staff is not professional and rude, especially front desk.

About Front Desk: Front desk staff who take care a bill is very unprofessional. They often over charged or have hidden service fees. You have to look carefully on each service bills.

I have been a patient of Dr Cousins for 23+ years. Her office treats it's patients like family. My five children who are now grown all were raised as patients in her office. They all know the importance of good dentsl hygene thanks to her. One of the first things people complement me on is my beautiful smile. I laugh because they always want to know if Ihave implants or dentures. I explain to them that I have neither. " I have a dentist who cares and takes great care of my teeth. Dr Cousins is GREAT !!!! Never had any problems that weren't explained and worked out. Her staff is always willing to work with you. Will always be a patient of hers.

About Front Desk: The front desk staff, Gabby and Lacey as well as Danielle are also great. They will take the necessary time to go over your bill if needed to make sure you understand your financial obligations and insurance plan coverage . They even find a way to fit you into a schedule appointment that works for you.

About Hygienist: Jennifer was my Hygientist and also did a great job. She is professional and doesn't waste much time. in and out in 30 -35 minutes

If you want an honest general dentist with great integrity, look no further than Dr. Faith Cousins in Silver Spring, Maryland!!! Faith Cousins is a general dentist who possess the utmost level of integrity and ethics. I am in my fifities and have a history of dental probelms, root canals, extractions, fillings, etc. In my twenties I was desperate to find a reputable dentist, after three years of searching and a few bad experiences I found Dr. Cousins. I have had a few crowns, one three unit bridge, and many fillings. My best example is that the area where a crown was placed a year ago developed a pocket. She said the crown fitting wasn't tight enough and provided me with a new crown. I highly recommend her and would give her 10 stars if possbile.

About Front Desk: The front office staff and manager are professional, pleasant, and helpful with appointments, insurance questions and payment arrangements. Could not ask for more, a great dentist with great staff!!

About Hygienist: Dr. Cousins had a new female hygenist in her office in January 2013. She performed the cleaning very well, however, her bedside manner needs help. I found her to be condescending and or at least a bit rude. Getting a good cleaning is important, so I will make an exception and have her clean my teeth again; although I may have to say something about losing the attitude.

I've been seeing Dr. Cousins exclusively for over 8 years now. She and her staff have replaced all of my fillings, performed regular cleanings, and other routine dental work. I now live 40 minutes away but still go to her because of her outstanding service and chair-side manner. Would highly recommend.

I went to Dr. Cousins for a second opinion since another dentist in the area told me I would need 5 crowns! In the end, Dr. Cousins found I did not need any new crowns-- just replacement of 2 old fillings saving me so much money and time, not to mention physical discomfort and anxiety! I am indebted to her and her staff. I now bring my 2 young children for check-ups/cleanings and have always had positive experiences.

I was going to Dr. Cousins for some time, but after a change in office manager, my experience went downhill. Keep in mind, Dr. Cousins as a dentist is great. She's sweet and answers questions. But that's half the trip. The other half is the bill you receive. Her office manager, Lacey, pays NO attention to billing. I was overcharged by nearly $200. Not one to just pay a bill without questioning, I called my insurance provider and they told me that I was charged some things that are inclusive in a filling. Additionally, Lacey forgot to include that I had already paid for a specific bill. I was sent a bill from the office saying a late fee was charged. I called and spoke to Lacey explaining that I was in the process of corresponding w/ my insurance company to understand what they covered, what they didn't, etc. All she kept saying was "THIS IS YOUR BALANCE. IF IT IS NOT PAID, YOU WILL BE CHARGED A LATE FEE AGAIN." This was despite me saying "I paid 20% when I got the procedures, and my insurance company is paying 80%; however, I want to understand why certain things aren't covered so I've requested my benefits coverage" and Lacey just kept repeating "This is your balance. If it is not paid..." So, I told her that I understood she was

About Hygienist: doing her job and it's unfortunate the dentist office is caught up as I try to understand my insurance coverage. I asked her to put a halt on the late fee because I was in constant communication with the dentist office and was working on the matter. She was vehemently opposed to this saying that it's a computer that automatically puts the late fees for all patients. I said, okay I'd like to speak to the person who can hear me out and work to put a halt on this late fee. She said she was the person. It was after I cried on the phone for 20 minutes explaining to her that I'm trying my best to pay this and I don't want my credit ruined that she said she would take off the late fee for one month but not in the future. Came back to haunt her because I had my insurance company go line by line and they found that I was erroneously charged for things that were inclusive, in addition to the fact that Lacey NEVER subtracted the amounts I had paid. I called her and told her that my payments had not been subtracted from my balance owed and she said she had no recollection I had paid during a certain visit. I had to take a day off work, go in with the receipt and she removed it from my balance. She didn't once apologize even when I asked if it was an error I made. She said she had no idea why it didn't show up. Here's the straw that breaks the camel's back and the precise reason I discourage anyone from going to this dentist office--I asked to speak to the dentist to explain what had happened and how she should be aware of the faulty charges and mishandling. I was told the dentist doesn't speak to patients and I mentioned that don't patients have rights to speak to their specialist? She told me that patients ask her the question, she relays it to the dentist and people deal with her. So, I gave her my phone number and told her I'd like the dentist to call me. She said okay, but I can't make promises. I walked out to get lunch and came back to leave my work number. When I asked her for the paper where I left my number, she went to another room and came back five minutes later with a different paper with my number scribbled on it. She had clearly disposed of the paper. Like I said before--the dentist is great, but you have to be aware of your billing and conscientious of the charges. Lacey certainly takes advantage of innocence. Ps, as per various insurance companies--dentists are supposed to call the insurance provider to find out what is covered in a plan--this office DOES NOT. So, do your homework before going.

She takes care of our family's dentistry needs so well. Dr. Cousins did two tooth extractions for my son - expertly done. He was not even afraid to go in for the second one. And she introduced my youngest to her first dentist appointment with great care. Her office is well managed and her staff quiet (not too chatty) which I appreciate when one's mouth is full of equipment. I would recommend her, definitely.

She had her assistant do my fillings and I had to go back and get them redone. Very poor attitude and treatment from assistant.
